odd whining noise?

odd whining noise?

just started doing it today, it sounds like an electrical whine or something that isnt too loud. It changes slightly with rpm, but i cant seem to find the source, any ideas?

is it comming from the engine bay? or inside the car?... make sure its not your radio... i've made that mistake before :P

definitely engine bay lol...wierd thing is that when i shut the car off, it makes the noise for a second or two more and fades away

sounds more like its coming from the front, there are some relays or some ---- for the ac (which i dont have anymore)...kinda think its coming from there. Does it cost anything to have an alt checked out?

well one way that works : start your car while it started disconnect the negitive battery cable and if it shut off most likly your alt is bad...Autozone checks them for free if still unsure
