NW Dyno Meet Results, Golden Corral Style

Well we had the dyno meet today at the new Marysville Speed.. The service was definatly different than the old shop.. prices have gone up and nobody is working flat rate at this place. But it was pretty decent.

ehh what can i say ?

i was hoping for more HP, but the trq is kinda funny to look at, i wasn't even expcting those numbers...

http://www.myimghost.com/img/592ae48...6/P1010028.JPG

A bit of fuel huh ?! 11.0 flat at 4000 RPM ?!

it's so weird, it coughs out smoke on the pull at 4k ... just a little poof of pure fuel ..

not to bad for pump gas, semi stock 460,

gonna have some changes done, and go back to the dyno pulling

mountain racing is a blast, and there are no real tracks here, thats why I mountain race. ;)

Boosting a GSR motor though might be sweet as hell. I only have about a year left...unless my extension package goes through...so i might just have to ---- one of those motors up. :)

Re: NW Dyno Meet Results, Golden Corral Style

Had a good time at the dyno day. Here's some of the pics I took.

Halfway through the day, Jeff and my brother Mike went to get some beer. Mike found some off road worthy lawn on the way.
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/4...adsmallhn9.jpg

Beau, Steve, Jeff and Mike G. turned Mikes Pathfinder into a beer garden :)
http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/6...n1smallfw0.jpg

The new shop owner seemed pleased.
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/4...n2smalldd3.jpg

Then it was off the the Corral, where big and small come to stuff there fat cake holes w/ greasy bulk goodness.
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/5...uysmallar5.jpg

Jeff had his traditional plate of icecream.
http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/8383/gc1smallgz1.jpg

Some of you might remember the "I dont need no turbo...", Manager of the Golden Corral. He likes to show us pictures of his award winning roadster.
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/8595/gc3smallbx8.jpg

Jeff didnt seem as impressed.
http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/7996/gc2smallas4.jpg

Tony and Mike were sneaky, and grabbed some souvenirs.
http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/5...y2smallbj0.jpg

I was pretty happy w/ making my goal of 400 on pump gas. If it lasts until the end of summer, Ill call it a success.
I installed a bigger WG spring the day before (AVCR's freak out when you try and go past double the spring pressure), and boost seems to ramp in slower than it did before. Id like to blame it on the AVC-HypeR controller.
7psi at 5500, 15@ 6500, and the full meal deal 18psi @ 7000. You could call this a form of traction control for 3rd gear. :)
The interesting thing was the TQ peaking up around 8-8.5k. All logs showed steady boost. Guess the VictorX/Pripper Topmount/ITR cam combo likes to work good up there.
http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/1...ynocap2ia0.jpg
(my WB offset was off by .5), But I will say that the 550's were wide the ---- open up top. Leaned out to 12.0 by the end of the run.

My secret ingredient was the top mount my brother made for me.
O0
http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/775...ersmallsr1.jpg

Steve's car suprised me. I thought for sure it was gonna be 350-360ish based on the dirty 3rd it was laying down on DR's. Turns out, it was just that tasty TQ spike the broke them loose. :-\
Dont know why it wouldnt carry TQ very well after 7500. Must be that baller IM and B16 cams, hahah.
His GT35 absolutely destroyed my SC61 in the spool department. I need to try one of them out someday.

One of my favorite dyno runs of the day was deff. 460Turbotruck's giant 460 powered 4x4. :) Sounded mean, and looked like it wanted to launch off the dyno when they nailed it at WOT. The carb fire was a bonus too >:D

The green coupe was Kyle's, I dont know where Jeff got Danny from? lol
Very simple setup that he put together for around $400 total. Classic HMT for sure, and it made some solid power. You could set your beer on the TQ curve.
(slight boost creep does the boat anchor H22 nicely)

I will say, the 2d curve put them at around 15ms @ 8k. Which would be 100% duty cycle, hahah

Woot woot ...

the carb fire was a mess, i was kinda suprise i didn't TOTTALY freak out...

carb fires are nothing new i guess,

i've done a ton of thinking and what not about my next part of my build for my truck, hopefuly the next numbers will be a little better,

i found it funny that that guy with the fouc-ass waited and waited, watch all of ours, and then at the end, we all left him on his own !! :1

ohh BTW .. damage report, i blew out my collector gasket on my drivers side, to much heat and backpressure !! haha ...backpressure on that 4" !! owned ! >:D

actually I think we all left for the Corral, and dave wanted to stay behind and watch the focus that had 9 grand in the motor lay down 140whp.

Oh, and for the record... My ass dyno still says 170whp in my automatic

The first setup, that H22 with the mitsu turbo is pretty damn impressive. I was gonna go this weekend, but I went snowmobiling instead... and my turbo teg was stolen. And who would even want to see a NA kraut-mobile on the dyno anyway? Probably still put down more than the latest Jeff Frank project ;)

Glad to see you guys pounding the silver bullet.

so what's the expected life span of that gsr motor ::) The h22 has possibly the smoothst honda dyno sheet i've ever seen, thing must be great to drive. And i love the ls/VTAK's 35hp kick in the nutsack. Must be fun when that kicks in.

Like I said, If it makes it to the end of summer in one piece, Ill call it a sucess. :)

Dave...are his fuel maps following that torque curve?

That is the weirdest torque curve on a VTEC motor I have seen, I would be interested in seeing the 2D graphs of the fuel maps.
