omg, is that the real audi quattro group b rally car i see in the background?? (pic 274)

stillnoturbo 05-23-2007 08:37 PM

Re: Now that's a frame off restoration!

It's safe to say it probably is. I mean Celica is a group b so I'd kinda assume it's also the same. I mean look at the rest of the cars in that garage. Minus the bandit's car. lol.

I doubt cause they just like restored everything and everything on that car was pretty old. Well before SSauto came to. They just refinished it as it's the same manifold as before. Did you see how thick that flange is on that thing? Looks like atleast an inch thick.

Yup it just shows that ramhorn manifolds are nothing new. These 80's rally cars are what started the whole ricer body kit ----. Kids wanted their gti's to look like a rally car.

The thing is beautiful. I really wish they had pics of that lancia delta that you can see the headlights of in the last pic.

Christ. They even used stainless lines for the vaccum line of the turbo compressor housing

I'll bet that cost a fortune to have done.

Re: Now that's a frame off restoration!

I wonder what the purpose of all that was? There are much better cars to start with, so that rally car must have meant something to someone.

Re: Now that's a frame off restoration!

If you go to there main web page, theres a project gallery featuring other cars including several lancia deltas.

Its funny to see cars around 2 decades old using the same techniques/parts that the gods of HT have bestowed upon us ::) They must have traveled back in time to build these.

Re: Now that's a frame off restoration!

that ------- motor is an 8 valve, twin plug setup. mutherfucker has enough plug wires for a v8. 3t-gte is old, but pretty cool. It used to be a popular IMSA motor.

I'd take that Celica in a heartbeat over that Lancia. That Delta is ugly as ----.

Son you have lost your mind. Go into their projects and checkout the pics of the motor going back together.
Super turbo charged my man. The way they did the plumbing is awesome.
