Default Nota Honda but....

Hey guys, Ive been hitting this site for a while.. excellent source of information AND laughs.. anyways, I have a couple of questions Im sure you guys can answer for me..

1) How the HELL do you guys pass smog?? I live in Central California.. smogged choked capitol of the world. Do you guys remove your setups every couple of years??

2) Can someone briefly explain the ratings(?) on turbos for example 48 intake, and 63 exhaust??

3) I have a first year Nissan Hardbody with the Napz 2.4 motor.. anyone had any dealings with these motors?? I already have done some mild porting of the head, big *** Competition Cams camshaft and a Doug Thorley header.. I am interested in slapping a turbo on it.. but that whole fuel managment thing is a mystery to me.. any ideas?? BTW the truck is TBI

Any info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated, and you guys crack me up when reading these forums.. thanks again

Welcome to the site..

Smog check,

Well here in Wash, its not that big of a deal, you can do the emissions checks just fine with a turbocharger, But you would have to take off any type of fuel managment, or set everything fuel wise back to stock, so you dont have any fuel enrichment going on.

2. Shortyz has a good link on that...

3. I work at a Nissan Dealer, and have worked on a few of those trucks, I really dont see why not. I'm sure theirs not to many people out their that have done it and recorded it, but that shouldnt hold you back. The engine is more than strong enough to handle the turbo setup.

Fuel management is the key in each setup, Honestly with fuel systems I'm not fimilar with, I would just go with an additional injector type setup. These basically will mount on your upper intake charge pipe before the throttlebody, and spray fuel in only when boost hits. They have little controllers that allow how much fuel to spray and at what times.

Other than that, I dont know to much about what kinda fuel management you could use. You possible could use a rising rate regulator (FMU) this adds pressure to your stock Fuel injector when boost hits, but these are not very relible.

That is the controller I was talking about.
