MAF-T is piggyback hackshit with the ability to convert freq based GM MAF to hotwire. Worthless, really since the same can be DIY for under $10 plus cost of a used AFC, which is a MUCH cheaper way too feed your engine too much timing and pop a ringland.

n00b, you have a tenacious attitude and aren't afraid to work on a car. That's awesome. But you don't know ---- about HMT. If you can stand the heat of an extra harsh n00b hazing you'll fit in here like it's your second home, but there really is an easier path.

i'm not disagreeing with you. i took a ------- -------'s advice and bought the MAFT.. i'm not feeding my engine any timing.. and obviously i don't know ---- about HMT ... who cares.. what matters is knowing ---- about WHAT I DO on a daily basis..

if i could do it over i would have gone megasquirt.. and if i can sell my hackshit piggyback for a decent $$ i may go that route..

Yes you are. By diminishing the MAF signal to get a smaller pulse @ your injectors you effectively advance timing. Look at any ignition map, speed-density or MAF, and think about it for a second.

I've had MS work really well, I have also had MS fail to perform correctly. MS1, that is. There are really quite a lot of things that it isn't set up to do correctly, namely control coil charge time.

For the amount of money you spend out on a MS, you can buy a used AEM EMS for one of the OBD2 Honduhs (they have a plethora of coil and injector drivers, COP and 10 injectors is feasible with true individual cyl trims)... $500 is the going rate, but you can do better if you put your ear to the ground. They are pretty easy to set up as a universal box, one of the local Supra guys runs one. An actual set of ECU plugs vs an ignorant DB25 connector (loose pins/wires IS a common MS problem).

Then stop posting, and don't come back. If you aren't HMT, then HMT doesn't want you. Make your choice now before I waste any more tech on you.

Yah but I'm still taking Dog 080, I haven't gotten to advanced subjects like Waterdog 101. I guess I/the gf has acquired a three legged dog, trying to get a handle on the subject of all things dogness. This one doesn't smell or make the furniture smell unless you take it out for a walk, or give it a bath. Kind of wierd.
