Noob Questions
 

Hi every one I am kind of a noob so plz don't burn me too bad. Well I like CRXes, but i don't know too much about thier speed (any trim but I hope to get an Si). What is thier stock speed? On average how fast does it go with a b16a engine swap with no forced induction. How hard is it to put a back seat in it, I want to fit at least 4 people in my car. I am sorry i m a total noob but i gotta learn some how? Thanks for any help.

if you can get a stock crx over 100 mph you'll be doing pretty good.

as for passengers, they SLOW YOU DOWN. they don't pay gas, and imo, all you need room for is one woman riding shotgun and make the other fuckers walk ;D

so you think.. crx's final drive gives it a theoretical top speed of like 135-140 range.. Ive personally been 129(paced)mph.

Hey once i took my '89 hatch SI up to about 130ish, and I am pretty sure you don't want to go any faster in a CRX, because at that speed stearing and everything else starts to wobble and I'd say it would be dangerous to go any faster... so don't OR DO AND DIE... LOL

i can cruise at 110 without a care in the world (except cops) if i want to. as for at least 4 people in the rex... i wouldnt count on it. if your concerned for passengers, get a hatch or a coupe or something.

I agree with the chick in the passenger seat 2! ;)

How fast does a stock CRX go in the 1/4? Also how fast can a b16a swap get u in the 1/4 with no turbo or any thing? I wouldn't be able to afford both at once.

if you can't afford both at once, go for the turbo instead of the swap. you'll be faster with a turbo crx than you would with a b16 swap NA. plus you can piece the kit together for cheap. check the faq at homemadeturbo.com.

who says you cant fit at least 4 people in a crx? ---- a back seat. i have fit 6 people in my rex before coming from a party. me, two people in the passenger seat, and 3 in the trunk(after you fold it down its pretty big). if your going to have a bunch of freeloaders in your ride make sure that they are uncomfortable ;).

yup i sure have gone 135 in my rex before(i was stupid and young) but as for puting more than 2 people in there, its gonna be slow as ----. i feel it when theres just 1 extra person in my car othere than myself :P

1st... REXes rock!
2nd... REXes with backseat=Gay (even if it's JDM!)
3rd... 1989 Japanese Honda Ad had B16 CRX stats. It was Japanese and the only thing I could understand was this:
0-100 km/h = 6.58 sec (0-60mph)
0-400 metre = 14.12 sec @ 145km/h (1/4 mile @ 90mph)
218km/h = 135mph (Top Speed? I cant read Japanese!)

If you need backseat go get an EF Civic Si H/B

the b16a swap is not a god, I have a b16 in my civic and I would have much rather swapped the d15 to mpfi and turbo it, but I got greedy. some people say the b16 swap should be good for high 13 low 14, but I think my car will be hitting low 15s (I live in a high desert and I fucked up my motor by raping the hell out of it).

It's not a good sign when someone asks in the same post how fast they can go and how many people can I fit in the car. If your smart you'll kill only yourself while your going fast. That way there will be at least 4 people at your funeral. ;) DUHHHH!!!

I always said when i m going to kill my self i m going to take out as many people as i can. Especially if they are free loading ass holes who don't pay for gas. IDK the crx is nice... looking but idk not the performance i want. I don't know what is the best car to really get. whats the best platform? (don't burn me for this post)

Saw a guy run who had a B16 89 CRX (full interior) with Falken Azeni's run high 13's. I dont know about you guys, but if a motor swap will get me into the high 13's to low 14's at the track, I think its worthy of a swap. Besides if you want to turbo it later, you got a nice platform to start from. It doesnt just have to be a B16, could also be any of the B-series engine B18B (LS), B18C1 (GSR), B18C5 (Type R, but not recommended for boosting later though), B20B (CRV), or B20Z (CRV). I'm in favor of the B-series as you can see. Not saying that sohcs are bad engine its just I like the extra cam ;)

no crx is gonna be "fast" without some work.. if you want a fast car without doing work to it.. dont buy a honda. no honda is fast from the factory. if youre willing to spend some green and turn a wrench the CRX is a great platform because its the lightest honda made. buy a crx... and boost SOHC. ---- passengers.. all they do is make your car slow anyway.
