Noob here (well kinda) - K20A2 Powered 94 Civic EX Coupe With Pictures
Whats up everyone?? My name is Jay and I am ready to build a HMT kit for my K20A2 powered 94 Civic EX Coupe that I swapped myself (I have done over 7 swaps) I am only a noob to building a turbo kit. I just need to know what would be a good turbo to start off with. I thought about using a GT35R turbo boosting at 10 daily and 20 at the track. I also want to run 9.5:1 compression ratio with Golden Eagle Sleeves capable of up to 70 PSI, ARP Studded Block and not to sure about piston and rods yet. This is why I am here and my friend told me about HomeMadeTurbo.com and I have been checking out this site for a few days now.....I love it and seems to be ALOT of useful infomation here and pretty cool people with alot of great ideas that love to turbo ANYTHING. I used to be a N/A guy and ever since I sold my 2004 SRT-4 and rode/drove my friends Turbo D16A1 86 CRX I have been hooked on boost.
Scroll down for pictures. |
Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2
lol, you don't make any sense.
you were an NA guy, but you had an SRT-4, which is a turbo car...and you had to get rid of it and get in a boosted CRX to get addicted to it? crack kills. |
Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2

Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2
whats up man, yeah anyways youve allways had na cars other than the srt4 so its gonna be fun havieng something with an aftermarket turbo.
|
Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2
Alright I used to have a SRT-4 then I sold it and ever since I got rid of it I have missed having a turbo then riding/driving my friends Turbocharged D16A1 86 CRX the craving has returned. So since I didn't know much about turbocharging a non turbo motor I tried to go N/A and I was kicking ass for awhile 12.9 @ 109 mph but I am getting my ass handed to me by turbocharged cars and I am tired of it.

Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2
Well at least you got the disease called all motor cured.Pictures of your ride, girlfriend, mother, sister mandatory.GT35R and a K20 should work quite nice together.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA i like it when people are so oblivious. its pritty simple... the more your motor flows NA the more boost you can cram in there. the reason everyone pussies out on the turbocharged k20 is the high compression ratio. that and there arnt to many people with them. ---- the only k20 turbo around here is this guy in valdosta with a k20 rsx and i heard hes pushin 350whp on a stock motor. Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2
id like to see pics of this k20 powered 94 also. You dont see that very often. Somebody was around with a K20 or a K24 powered hatch with bolt ons running 12s na... if you could do that and boost it that car should be a giant killer.
|
Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2
The only turbo K I've seen was an RSX Type S with a GReddy kit.. and he popped the motor
|
Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2
you may want to consider also checking out http://www.k20a.org/forum since there are quite a few guys on there pushing their stock rsx type-s to around 400-500whp with K-Pro. Most of those guys are using kits, but check out what the kits got to offer and then give it the homemadeturbo treatment to make it better and cheaper for you.
You can skimp out on cheaper intercooler pipings, intercooler, turbo, etc... one this is DO NOT skimp out on a good fuel management system--too much $$$ into that k20 already. Good luck and post pics! |
Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2

Re: Noob here (well kinda) - 94 Civic EX Coupe w/K20A2
lmao, keep reving that thing past 8500 Everyone that builds those knows the k20 pumps are not good past 8500 (stock bearly past 8200) cam oiling is also ----. Modded s2000 pumps are the way to go. also you should do the -4 fitting and tap the oil rail for more oil to the cam caps so it doesnt end up eating your cam away on #5.

It is always nice to see somebody do something different for a HMT system, just because its not the way I would do it or the easiest doesn't make it wrong so good luck on it. Remember though k20's are for bitches and HMT owns you ;)

Re: Noob here (well kinda) - K20A2 Powered 94 Civic EX Coupe With Pictures
Nice swap. K's are nice, I don't care what people say about them. The price is crazy, but its a great swap. If I can ever get mine fixed, I am definitley going to turbo it soon.
Good luck with the project.. I don't have much info other than it wouldn't be a bad idea to check out www.k20a.org |
