just heard from the grape vine that all state ref stations are closed due to financial budget cuts from out great gov. Arnold..... If you get a state ref ticket, just bring it down to a test only station and they can just sign it off!!!!

it's a little more involved then that, but yeah i knew about this a week ago. i guess i should have posted it then.
i think if you get a ref ticket you have to pay the fine that would get waived if you passed the ref. so...
i know a few people with ref tickets right now so when they figure it out i'll post it here.

Thats funny because last month CHP had a check point setup with a mobile smog testing station, on a not so busy street at around noon. They had 2 EG's pulled over one on the machine and one getting inspected. That would totally blow ass getting caught like that. I hear they want to put up cameras with smog analyzers on the freeway entrances, that snap a pic of your plates if your car puffs out to much smoke.

I was leaning more towards your state/county taxes based on your income checks. But yeah 1% hike on sales taxes is another jump I think Indiana officials are leaning towards. But they are also talking about the GAMBELING taxes to be raised more to cover the college students tuition costs from the FASFA

i'm with chris on this one.

the only good thing to come out of the high fuel prices are less pigs on the road. which has been great.

they should get retool LE back to the way it was before this police state, and have them not patrol. or patrol on foot just because there is nothing better to do while they suck society dry of money and abuse their authority

Not to mention the numerous cities going bankrupt. Vallejo a burb of san francisco already did. California looks great in postcards. The reality its a state thats been falling apart for years with laws that take away any freedom that made California famous to begin with.

why does it seem that they're more strict on the commuter cars rather than the diesel powered pick ups and semis that spew out visible black smoke? $$$?? i can understand that my car is not suppose to be running so rich, and visibly harmful. but here in cali, i hardly ever see a car with its tailpipe emitting smoke!! it may be the law in effect but i never see a highly modded car spewing blatant smoke. but for every drive i make, i see 18 wheelers shift in the puffs of black in the air when they roll off a stop light...everyday

The way around alot of california laws is having cars registered in different states. Consider yourself lucky. Make sure the car is not in your name put into a famiily members cause Im assuming you will be getting a california drivers lic.


Anything that stands out stickers/stand out rims/large shiny exhaust will get you fucked with asap by the law enformcment of nazifornia. I've been very lucky never got ref tickets etc nor my hood opened by the cops. I did this by having expensive quite exhausts, barely lowered cars and modest rims. Its sad but this is the stuff you have to do out here if you dont feeling like going to court and knowing cops on a first name basis.

So, even if the car is registered to say, my older brother, and is licensed in michigan, they will still pull me over and what not? even with a michigan plate?

And I would imagine that this car would be a bit of a target .. :6
