no luck

Seems like I got a streek of bad luck going lately. Finally got to the shop to buy a engine today. I got it from a

place called sonik boom. The people there were cool, had it loaded up in my mom's truck (99 ford ranger) about 5 min

after I paid for it. Now when the guy lowered it into the bed it sank down a bit, but the suspension on the truck is

very stiff so that was ok. Coming down the road the engine would tilt forward and then plop back down when I stopped,

no big deal I would go easy on the braking... or so I thought. Coming down Blanding Blvd some bitch in a white

celica stops fast in front of me. Basically I had two choices run into her ass, which I should have done or stop

fast. I picked the latter and as the truck ground to a complete stop I heard the engine accelerating towards me

from the back of the bed. I barely had time to think oh ----! as it rammed that 14 year old engine mount through

the rear glass on the truck. As if that wasn't bad enough I had a bunch of slack jawed gawkers tail gate me the rest of

the way home, I can't blame them I would have wanted to see the carnage too, but oh well i digress. I called an auto

glass repair man, I'm going to save my mom from her insurance going up and foot the bill. It's going to be,guess

315$ for the glass and instaliation, if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all. This right after dumping

1400 for engine swap, glad I have a decent job is all I can say. I'm not looking for sympathy just thought I would

share a story that will probably make me laugh in a few months when I look back at it. Anyone else have bad luck?

Just some of advice. Always,Always,Always put heavy tall things against the back off the cab. You can stop faster thatn you can accelerate. You should have laid it down if it was that tall or put a board behind your cab. Or you could drive real slow. Things that I have learned working at a car lot for 3 years. Learned the hard way.

Yea that really does suck ass... i wish i could help you here bro.. We all get that bad luck at one time or another so dont feel special ;). anyways my only suggestion is to either go to the junkyard and get the glass urself.. its cheap and easy... Or Call a few diff places and negotiate as some of these people are hungry for any work and will give u a discount
Best of Luck to ya in the future

Yeah, go get the glass from the junkyard or anywhere you can find it cheap. It's pretty easy to install, even though it doesn't look like it. If you decide to do it yourself, pm me and I'll give you some tips on getting that new glass in there real easy. I worked at a tint shop and we would always just take the back glass out of those rangers.
