they might check to see if you have insurance but rarely mine does. And i never had full coverage and some of my boys never did when paying off a car they just had liability. But dif states might be diff i dont know

If you didn't have a loan on your car I'd say just get an insurance card for your car that extends into the future. I've given my insurance card to a police officer a few times when I didn't actually have insurance - though I didn't know that I didn't have it...guess the bill just lapsed. But I don't roll without plates or insurance...just not safe.

In Tennessee you just get a little ticket, but go across the border to KY or GA and you will get tossed in friggin jail if you get pulled.
