No Dipstick?
I am putting a Y8 block in my crx and for some reason I can't seem to find where the dipstick is going to be. On my old Z6 block it was right in the front. Does it go through the valve cover?

Re: No Dipstick?
its int he same place as all the d/b blocks, the dipstick tube probably got pulled out, it comes out pretty easily
|
Re: No Dipstick?
No there is not even a hole. I would have noticed. Any other ideas?

Re: No Dipstick?
is it like a accord at the bottem of the lower timing cover in the oil pump housing?
|
Re: No Dipstick?
wait wait, with the y8's i remember it being alont the side of the timing belt, couldnt be that difficult to find
|
Re: No Dipstick?
yeah it should be on the timing belt/exhaust side corner ,if the tube isn't there you will see a hole fo rit.

Re: No Dipstick?
so what do you guys do about that then? is there a casting mark for you to drill out and install the dipstick tube in the stock a6/z6 spot?
|
Re: No Dipstick?
yeah ther is no pre-marked spot but I think Could measure it aout and get it done but this motor only needs to last 1 1/2 months till I get out of school

Drill a hole in there for a dipstick Fill the pan with the proper amount index the dipstick and you are ready to go Doesn't really matter where you drill it because you are re-calibrating the stick with a known amount of oil in the pan. |
Re: No Dipstick?
put a level plug in the oil pan, pull bolt, no oil add

Re: No Dipstick?
obd2 blocks has the dipstick on the obd2 oilpump.
obd1 blocks have dipsticks in the block. :1 get an obd2 oilpump and port it for a better flowrate. shim the relief valve to raise the oil pressure. |
