5th gear runs tend to cause detonation in bad setups, and detonation owns rods...

My 240sx blew up the day I removed my speed limiter too (60 miles from home too). Perhaps they should start referring to the speed limiter as the 'rod retainer'

jsut think about it, me and josh both blew our motors, and what are we doing now, building them. be like us build a motor. its what all the cool people do but soryr about that man. i dont htink ive ever done a 5th gear boosted pull ever in any of my setups,

When rods exit the block at high speed its a very unique sound.. Almost like doing a huge burnout in the gravel, god I miss those days

Sorry to hear Pete, put in some OT and save some money. Because forged internals are not cheap.

Yea Jeff explained it perfectly. In my situation, swap the "gravel" with some small rocks.
