Default nitro fuel ?

I was talking to a guy who said he added 1 Gallon of 50% R/C nitro fuel in his tank and gained 50hp on the dyno and his car revved smoother in the high rpm Bull ---- or no?

i dont think nitro fuel and gas would mix together all too well..
and i dont think it would be good for the engine at all

nitro fuel is very ------- potent
detonation comes to mind

i think nitromethane burns very slowly...plus rc fuel is really expensive from what i remember (i also dont remember them selling 50% but ive been outta the loop)

$60/gal for 50% nitro.

it's ~15% oil content.

will mix with gas fine, it's how i use up my old nitro. mix it in the 2stroke mix, let the sparkplug turn to glowplug!

Nitromethane burns very quickly and at a very high temperature...like 2500C. Its got like a quarter of the energy density of regular gas but it only needs a tenth of the oxygen of regular gas because oxygen is already part of the compound. Overall the engine runs cooler because of the higher mass flow rate of the fuel. Usually its a methanol/nitromethane mix.

now that you say that he said his motor ran cooler than normal. My buddys runing it he said it smokes prolly from the oil content smells like an rc after full throttle pulls he used the 15% 1 gallon to a full tank suprisingliy his car really did pull smoother in the high rpms but he is na they want me to do it but ill be damned if im gunna blow my motor. The guy did say there was a certian mixture that permotes the most power gains

we used at add the really high octane gas from my friends race car to his bolt on rex. made his car feel faster, and the headers glowed a really cool orange, but his ground strap didnt like it too much and melted in half.
