I think I'll just use the afc. Hardcore HMT'ers don't recognize Jim Wolfe as an option.

What kind of deal is the Maf sensor? Where can I put this in the kit to have as little bullshit problems as I can?

If you use the pulsar ecu then you need matching MAF sensor or it won't work. Plus the pulsar ecu is made to use ITB's and the t28 and a lower compression engine. Just use your stock ecu and a safc. Pulsar ---- is nice but way overpriced and is different then normal sr20det stuff. Steve just find a bluebird sr20det manifold and the t25 and then everything else just go HMT style. Just reroute your BOV back into the intake charge otherwise your car is gonna run shitty whenever the bov releases air cause the MAF sensor goes nutty.

maf needs to be pre turbo at the inlet,

Also I don't think that toyota uses MAF. Just to clear something up, AFM stand for Air Flow Meter not a specific type. They come in three main types:

1. MAF (mass air flow) aka. hot wire
2. VAM ((vane air meter) meaning is uses a flapper door (used on toyota 3s-gte engines, not sure about yours)
3. Karmen Vortex type (mitsubishi thing).

If it does use the VAM style AFM, you can vent bov to atmosphere without having idle issues, but some people have an issue with a slight shot of rich fuel mixture between shifts.

and then i change the info, i guess the karmen vortex type was also used on some supras

steve, look into the smt-6 and soon to come smt-7. The SMT-6 alot of alltrac owners are using, its a piggyback that controls fuel AND ignitiion.

smt6

The Heart of the Fuel/Ignition management system, this little piggy-back system is jam packed with features including; full timing control (advance and retard), A-B Map system for on the fly map swap, full feature extra injector controller for an extra injector (or 4), can control water injection system/Nitrous Injection....

I've done blow-thorugh and before the turbo MAF setups on the tubro Maximas I've worked on. on the 2000+ VQ30De Maxima the MAF are pretty common for blowing out. but I've seen some of the KA guys get away with blowthrough AMF setups. by far the before the turbo was the best bet and most used IMO(other than on the Stillen SC setup).

for no worries or problems, you can also use a recirculation style BOV and filter the air back in "before" the MAF instead of letting it be atmospheric. you can do atmospheric blow off with MAF cars but of course you'll get that "lean spike" everytime you shift/tb closes.

Stever, just use an AFC and ----. Throw the AFM before the turbo, you'll be fine. Then the wifey can boost her way to work. Hey, at least one of you will have a boosted car :P
