the Nissan 180sx/240sx/silvia s___ thread

Hello!

I have been getting a little sick of my hatch lately, and have been really into silvias for a while now. hondas in my town are the only think people fix up, next to the usual crap like sentras and hyundai's and ford probes, but really hondas are the number one thing in my town. they are also number one for getting stoled and vandalized and I am getting a little sick of all the mess accociated with honda in general. I wanted to start learning more about nissans (except sentras, because they are gay and I hate them, no offense to anyone) and I am sure I am not the only one around here too. dont get me wrong hondas are badass, I have had one for three years. and dont the whole swap and turbo thing, carbon fiber everywhere, collected the majority of the jdm ----, and so on. so its about time for me to test the waters.

I have my flame suit on and am prepared to take lots of flammin.... but I have searched all over and have not found much. I could be lookin in the wrong places so forgive me on that.

what I would like to know is...

whats a good forum
pros and cons of sr20det swaps
front end conversion info
good places to obtain quality parts
suspension setups
other swaps besides sr20's that have potential

I really dont care about going ultra fast but I still appreciate the info. I do care about autocross, and track driving, and DRIFT. forgive me for jumping on the drift band wagon. thanks for all the help, I hope this thread grows fairly big.

I would imagine it shouldn't be hard a 240 by what i understand is the exact same as a sylvia just a american version/name and engine. I like the sylvias to cause they remind me of baby gtr's ( all hail) and they are bad ass drifters.

I'm already sick of them. Here in Southern California they are fast becoming the new civic. If i were to do a FR car it'd be a soarer (sc300) those give me a boner.

2.0T versus Ghetto 1.5T runs are always funny
maybe someday I'll get my ass kicked because there is some serious nissan maniacs but i always have the excuse that iam FWD ;D ;D

Here 90% of turbo cars are either srt4's or nissans. They are the next civic lol. And yes. Soarers own. If only the sc's didnt have such a high price tag. ::)

yeah soarers are definatly the ----. theres a shop here and the owner has a real one. its soooooo nice, it has so many luxuries that a lexus doesn't have. I got to sit in it.

I am kinda bummed theres not more nissan enthusiasts here.

it seems like people would be turboing their ka24's! but I guess not.

I love the SC300/Soarer too, but they are too damn heavy.

I'll take a 91+ S13 coupe with a RB25DET please. I'm so sick of FWD.

drag car. I hear that makes it really hard to turn. otherwise it would be a disgusting swap.

I was first a Pro-Drift, Anti-Honda, Nissan -----...

Go to www.zilvia.net and register, those boys will set you straight.

While you're at it, register at www.northwestnissans.com and www.freshalloy.com

They are for the most part a large group of JDM, Performance junkies. Don't talk about fatty wings or body kits, just talk about performance and they won't make fun of you.

Nah, my buddy has a S14 with the RB25DET swapped in, and that thing is very well balanced. It's not as nice as his S13 SR20DET, but I think he has the suspension more dialed in on that sucker. man, I want one so bad.

nice! my plan is to do a ka24de turbo kit for about a grand. I should be able to pull it off. I hear they usually make about 250 horsies which is plenty for me
