NHRA seatbelt requirements
What are the requirements for the belts (4 or 5 pt harnesses) to be NHRA legal and allowed on the track? They have to be 3 inch belts right? Also without a roll cage what is the legal mounting for them?

Unless you run a certain speed, like faster than 10.99 like random said. A shoe string would be legal for nhra. But certain gay tracks like RT 66 make their own rules. like if you go 13.99 you need a helmet.

Re: NHRA seatbelt requirements
if its bolted directly behind the seat, your going to crush ur spine when u crash. in order for a 3/4/5 pt harness to do any good it has to be mounted horizontal to the seat (straight back from your shoulders)
think about it. if their bolted downward, when u crash the belt pulls down, therefore crushing ur spine and ------ you up. if its straight behind you, it pulls you to the seat, nicely.
