new to this whole turbo thing..approx power gains?
 

iv got a 91 civic si with a dohc zc swapped into it, im putting a homemade kit on the car next week and will b boosting around 11psi.....what kinda power will my motor make roughly at 11psi on a dohc zc?......and what kinda 1/4 times would i b hittin approx?.....the cars got an lsd zc tranny on it also btw, just wondering what kidna hp and torque numbers im lookin to expect and 1/4 times.......thx guys.

id say close to maybe 190/200. torque im not sure on.

well,boost roughly translates to 10hp or so per 1.lb of boost.

how much did that rig run you?

you'll blow the thing up before you take it to the track.
you should be running 9s with 400 hp.

you really didn't mention anything about management, and that will be the key to reliable horses.

the total car cost me 2g's...i bought it from a honda tech who had sjut swapped the dohc zc into the car and the lsd zc tranny.......for fuel management ill b using 450dsm injectors and a s-afc and the car will b dyno tuned at the shop whos installing the kit for me for free....im lookin to get a rough estimate of power and 1/4 times?...thx guys

yeah really, go the repgrammed ecu route.

I think that's a pretty sweet deal on the car.. fair at least.

iv aslready purchased the s-afc and injectors, wont that b pretty good for fuel management?...and ya 2g's for the car was a fair deal, it had tein coilovers, gsr blades, new opaint, all new flawless interior, a 5th gen si sunroof in it, and so on, and it was 2g's canadian might i add since i live in toronto.

yeah that ---- will work for a while, but a chipped ecu doesn't really cost that much for the benifit you recieve from it.

It's a good idea to have an AFC with TurboEdit for "fine tuning".

turbo-dan has a zc pushing 10 psi. he figured 200 HP with a safc and hack. ( i think ) and if im wrong Dan, ill buy you a beer when im in the Peg :-*

so with 11psi on my dohc zc id b around 200hp to the wheels?.....so that would equal a mid 13 second run in a 91 civic si, with lsd tranny and drag radials?

I think everyone has overlooked a very important aspect of this whole thread.

Which Turbo will you be running? That's going to have a big effect on your times.

I know its all exciting and such to start boosting but since you did just get this car make sure all the maintenance is up to par before you boost and find out 1 week later that the engine is smokin' it up. Might want to do compression testing or whatever kind of maintenance you want to do on it. I know the guy said he just dropped the engine in it, if you got papers for it then cool, but if not better check. I trust a seller but only so much... Seen too many people get f'ed over listening to a lame seller whos blowing fire outta their ass

Top of the board it says 1/4 mile times...check that out. It will give you a really good idea.

ya iv got papers for the motor, the car was owned by a honda mechanic and all the work on its been done at there dealership....the car will b having the turbo installed by a shop and will b all dyno tune don ther einhouse dyno........as for what turbo it is, i havent got any idea, it came from a jdm mazda mpv mini van, any ideas as to what kind it is?
