New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
Im about to swap my SSAC t04e into my crx and I realized I have a problem.
The instructions say to hold the wheel firmly when its started and to hold it for 30 seconds until oil is all over it. I thought sure I can do that Ofcourse I never thought I would be all alone until almost 12pm tonight and frankly I just cant wait that long How can I do this myself? Thanks guys |
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
Don't cut off any fingers. Just disconnect your fuel pump relay and prime it by cranking your engine.
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
just start it
not like your gonna ruin an SSAC turbo, those thing wouldn't break if you threw it off the roof. quality stuff i tell you. |
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
If the motor isnt turned over the oil pump is still priming? Alrighty that works then
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
The motor isn't gonna turn on but its still gonna crank...
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??

Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
Just wedge a piece of cheese in there
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
lol stick your dick in the inlet and yell for your moms to come start the car ;D
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
run a wire from the batt terminal to the starter trigour(with the key off)this will turn the engine over but wont start
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
I believe pulling the ECU main fuse next to the battery will prevent the car from starting(well I know it will do that) but I believe it turns on the oil pump. Then you can just crank over the engine a couple of times and the oil should circulate. Sticking your hands in a turbo while the engine is running is just a bad idea in general.

Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
open the wastegate and wedge a socket on the nut of the impeller
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
THIS JUST IN!!!!!!!
THE SSAC T04E COMPRESSOR HOUSING IS ------- MASSIVE COMPARED TO THE T3 .60 HOUSING!! HAVE TO MODIFY EVERYTHING!!! |
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??

|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
just start the damn car, oil is at 50psi and up that ---- will move through the bearing in less that .00005 of a second.
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
i bet anyone here 5 bucks that his turbo won't spin at idle anyway ::)
and even if it does, do you really think it could spin fast enough to damage anything? And if it does, does it really matter? |

Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
disconnect your spark plug wires real quick, prime it a couple times and then put them back on, not hard....

anyway just unplug the ecu and crank it over if you are worried. |
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
---- it, just start it up.
If you are really worried you can just pour oil into the hole retard :P |
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
Anyone who believes in priming turbos is not a friend of mine.
|
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
Exactly. Do you know how quick your car builds oil pressure? Quick enough to make you cry.
I'm just hungry for cheese |
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
If you don't start your car right now I'll put a jihad on your ass.
Don't even think about trying to oil that turbo... oil will get there (unless you're retarted and didn't hook up the lines correctly). |

or just get some oil in a cup and pour it into the oil feed for the turbo and spin it with your hands there are about 100 different very simple ways you could do this :) id just pour some oil into the turbo and spin it with your hands, its worth it then you dont have an excuse if your ssauto turbo breaks after one pull |
Re: New Turbo Install - How To Stop From Spinning *alone*??
Well after all this hustle and bustle, I figured alright Ill pull the plug wires and crank it a few times
I guess I got lazy and pulles # 3 and #4 and said ---- it, its not gonna start Went to go crank it and the fucker started right up!! God damnit, anywho, its on the car and already popped a headgasket for me I think lol |
