first i'll like to say i have seen old 4door skylines (r33-r32-and r34 shapes) they come with Inline-6 N/A engines.
the skyline is just a model line, the performance ones are the GT-R.

just like having a LS, GSR, Type R, all are integras.

the GT-R is set to be out nex year 2005.

and that one will BE ALOT FASTER THAN THE 350Z

I still think an N/A skyline should be faster than a N/A 350Z..

I knew they were dropping the SVT focus, but I doubt they are dropping the lightning. The SVT cobra is being beefed up for the new model. And just b/c ford is dropping the focus doesn't mean the SVT one isn't good. ( That's hard for me to say since I own/hate a focus in my driveway).

Highly doubt most of you have even drove the new Z or the G35. They are incredible cars, it didnt suprise me at all to see the Skyline badge on the G35 in JDM land. Remeber, this is just a base Skyline, nothing special. I'm sure the GT-R will be a very impressive machine. I think the new look and vq35 are going to go along way.

The skyline is just a model name. In north america they use abstract numbers and letters instead of model names to give accolades to the entire lineup.

i.e. Inifini G35, Acura EL, Mercedes SL, etc etc.

Who answers the question "what do drive?" with a "3-series" they say "BMW".

Why do you think caddilac is changing their names from Catera Touring sedan to CTS? Same reasoning. The skyline will NEVER be sold in north america under the name SKYLINE. under G35 GTR sure, but never under a name.

Also look at the performance numbers, what was a RB rated at 285 Hp, what is the new VQ 287 HP maybe even more with japans higher fuel grades. Nissan couldn't give two ***** about the aftermarket, that will strive regardless. Hahn racecraft HAS a 650 HP turbo kit for that car. Nissan doesn't need to supply the turbo, or the management, or even the warranty. Besides anyone here would take a base model G35 over what little honda they are driving, that includes me.

i've seen the 350z run and get smoked by a crx,civic coupe and they didn't impress me,i've seen a G35 coupe run and that is an impressive car,we're never going to get the good stuff like japan so we have to deal with i'm honestly with all the restrictions there is.if we're lucky will get it other than that nissan is no going down just like all the other car dealers.there isn't anything sporty anymore everything is now looks and making money.
i don't think we'll ever get to see something that is worth buying anytime soon.

i love skylines. Matter of fact i love them just as much as i love hondas. Im not sure what the plans for the "american version of the skyline" is going to be but i hope not like that. I mean come on nissan stop making it look just like the z. They seems to run out of ideas i dont know but they could do better than that. And i know that black skyline pic looks photochop but thats not a bad concept skyline. I've driven the z many of times and its not a bad car. But i can honestly say i would never pick a 350z over my civic. Just not my style and too damn heavy. I just hope whatever they come out for the skyline/g35 for the near future dont let down us skyline fans
