New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
Does anybody have any thoughts on the new skunk2 intake manifolds for the D-series engines?? they look nice and i've always wanted one for my a6 motor...turbo ofcourse ;) all i heard is that for the 88-91's you have to use the 92+ fuel rail so i dont know how that works out?!? anybody use one yet or know someone who has? any personal opinions? i really want one!

Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
are you looking for something that "looks nice" or something that performs? if you are looking for something that looks nice, just have your stock IM cleaned up with a bead blaster or something...it will look just as good.
performance wise, I have heard nothing about it. :-\ my $.02 |
Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
hes got a point, my 2 cents, they look like stock and perform not much better, this product it nearly the same bore and runner size, dont see what the gain could be.

Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
i really dont give a rats ass about what it looks like, as long as it performs!!! i'm a performance junkie, not really a "looks" kinda person. although i do think it looks very nice!! thats not why i want it

Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
kinda contradicting yourself there bud. not tryin to flame you but your first post you ask if anyone likes the way they look, your second post is a picture of one, and your 3rd response, "i dont care about looks"... :-\
make up my mind, what are you asking. looks: looks like a wast of money to me performance: i have heard nothing that really grabs my attention about them. I wouldnt buy one. |
Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
well yeah, i'm saying they DO look nice but thats not why i want it. i mean i do want it to be clean looking but i wouldnt care if it looked like ---- as long as it gave you some good gains i would be interested. i know its a new product too so not too many people are going to have ideas of how it performs :-\

Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
Just port the ports and put a larger TB on it.

Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
well maybe i would get lucky and someone would know something about it!....----

Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
Its basically an itr manifold for the d series. You will most likely get a small gain out of it but using it in conjunction with a bigger tb and some port work you could get some nice gains out of it.

Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
I'll stick with my Y8 intake. My boost doesn't seem to mind it. ;)

Re:New Skunk2 Intake Manifold
used to have one on my 95 coupe. made a big diffrence in the higher rpms while boosting. plus it looked sexy with my crome valve cover and ss autocrap mani, ---- looked sexy. (ricer ::) ) the only thing i hated was it used to rub on the brake proptioning valve. :-\ times got hard and i ended up selling it, but it was well worth it.
btw, they are not new, i had 1 like last year |
