New shoes for the 850

I've been rolling on 15" steelies with hubcaps since I bought it. Found these on a volvo site I post on for 250 shipped with tires. They even came with Potenza S0-3's with rubber still left on them! Saaweeet! Got them friday and painted them today with Dupli-color graphite rim paint. I love this stuff. Works great and sticks really good. I just degreased them and washed them up with a scrubby pad I snatched from work. Oh I nabbed the degreaser too...don't tell. :P All in all they came out pretty good. A couple of bubbles but ehh this is just my daily driver since I have the Z too. I just realized while painting the wheels that both of my cars have the same color scheme. I didn't even think of this before and didn't mean to do this. I'm not doing too much to this since parts for these things are kinda pricey compared to honda's and it's my daily driver too. Just bought a K&N drop in filter and maybe some springs and thats it. The Z has a bunch of parts I have to install but I'm just being lazy and I hate installing suspension ----.

's a before and after.

Re: New shoes for the 850

I've got two rhb5's coming in the mail and a header for the z and a mig welder... yeah they aren't the biggest but would spool up pretty fast. ^-^ Don't worry I have Tokico Illumina shocks and springs waiting to go on. It rides like a caddy right now since it still has the stock 75 shocks and springs which are all shot.

So much stuff and a lazy ass owner=car sits next to a pile of parts waiting to go on :P I still have my workbench I got for x-mas in the box still in my garage waiting to be put together. Damn HMT got me sitting on my ass in front of the puter and getting nothing done. SO...AAADDDICCCTTTTIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGG.

they look oem. there are oem volvo wheels in that style that come in gunmetal-ish color.

I want a volvo, but I want a wagon

Re: New shoes for the 850

There's a few oem rims that come in a more flat gunmetal color with out the metallic look. Mostly in the 17" and 18" rims. I'm too poor and come to buy tires I don't wanna have to sell the car just pay for them. 16's are baller for me.

and I believe these also come in anthracite which are a super popular wheel among volvo guys.

My wheels came stock on all turbo wagons. Just in a plain silver color though.

if you parked the z on the grass, it might get lost. If it weren't for the wheels, the cloaking device woulda worked flawlessly. So if you ever need to run from the cops, drive into a field of green grass at least 15" tall :P

damn that green is a love hate relationship, I like the color, but then again I dislike it. But i think i like it more than i hate it.

I know exactly what you mean about the color. Gotta live with it for awhile till I get some cash to paint it.

I love that green color, it works very well with the gun metal wheels. Get us some more pics when you install those new parts.

stillnoturbo 04-24-2006 01:44 PM

Re: New shoes for the 850

Miata rims.... nigga please. Those are Konig Rewinds 15x7. Brand spankin new. The volvo is fwd. Swedish powa! 5 cylinder 20v turbo. 220hp stock but in a 3200lb pig. Can still light 'em when switched to sport mode and doesn't shift till 6k so more spoolage. The older volvo's were rwd.

Don't ever change the color of that car! it looks so hot right now.

By the way, pick up the latest d-sport magazine, there's a hot z car in there that looks just like yours. Seriously, and it looks really good.

Finally pulled the Z out and took it for a spin. Battery needs to be charged but it ran perfect for sitting for almost 6 months. Gotta love midwest winters!

I found the front spoiler cheap otherwise I wouldn't of got it with the licensce plate cutout. I plan on going with the mad jDm retro look and do the front external oil cooler setup. :P The seat in the Z right now is an older Recaro with mega huge bolster that I had to install in it when I had the rollbar welded because my friend couldn't fit in the Buddy CLub. Not to mention my HF fluxcore isn't up to the task and I don't run gas cause I'm poor and ghetto like that and didn't want the rear section to have a bunch of splatter everywhere. After driving it it felt so good to shift since the brick is auto. I may need to loose a couple of pounds since I packed on some meat this winter so I can squeeze my cubby ass into that BC seat.
