The New Rabbit

Has anyone seen the new GTI Rabbit? Just want to know what your thoughts are?

Re: The New Rabbit

Someone i work with has the '07 rabbit GTi, apart from the crap seat sliding mechanism, its really pretty fast. So far he's had it up to 146mph and the torque curve is flat as hell, so it pulls from idle to the redline.

base 15K

cheaper and faster than a civic I'd much rather drive a vw than a civic, I've worked on them and the way they are built is very dfferent than a honda

Re: The New Rabbit

GTi starts at around 22k......

the regular rabbit looks good, but I rather get a gti. I like the cars, but have heard stories. The older engines are crap, except for the vr6 pretty much.

you've never owned a VW then. and base rabbits msrp for 15k, but they're more like 18. the gti is 25ish i think and is more neer 30 once yo add in the expensive ass transmission and other bells and whistles. I'm driving an mk2 gti now, lady has an mk1 also, I've driven mk4's no 5's VW's might seem like they have a good fit and finish and everything, but they're just big peices of ----. I took a 1500 dollar hit on mine just so I didn't have to drive the ------- thing anymore. The vr6 breaks all of the time too, the only good engine VW made are their old non turbo diesels and their 8v's.

if it cost you 1500 to fix you probably didn't fix it yourself

Re: The New Rabbit

In the UK, the rabbit starts at $40k and goes up to $50k for the fully specced up version.

I cant stand working on most vdubs, I started with a 54 ragtop bug and have owned/built a porsche 911 and had no problems but ---- they way they put some ---- together in the 90's :S I did a ---- ton of work to a vr6 corrado at the shop and you couldn't pay my ass to own one of those piles of ----.

My Element not only "chirps third" it lights them up on third. So that comparison is not valid.....case close. And yeah I'm not kidding. That Element is a fun car.

I was thinking about buying an element soon for a DD. And I can throw my bike on the roof. I never posted any thing asking everyones opinion because I knew i'd get flamed. Thanks for being the first to admit they bought an element. How do you like it? Is the realtime 4wd system junk of does it work well.
