New project, What do ya think

I've always wanted an old skool import. I found this on ebay, my parents had one once and said it was one of the best cars they had.

I was thinking of a supercharged MR2 motor, or maybe a 88 or so Supra motor.

thats is old school..nice! I go more towards a supra motor if you can find one for cheap. they were once the same car and it might be easier and you'll have more power.

That car looks like it would be very nice for a project. Just like Whitey, I've never seen that old of a Celica before. It would be very original. You should try it out.. if you do, good luck with it!

I had one of those. I never really drove it though. I bought it for like $250 from some crackhead painter guy. All I wanted was the motor to swap into my truck. I can't say I would have ever drove it, but I owned one at one time.

I like the styling, and there is tons of room in that bay for whatever you want to do. I say go for it.

Re:New project, What do ya think

Ya, I love old skool. I was going to go Datsun 510, but that's too is getting overdone. I think that one is a great price but I might try to locate on locally(Ontario, CAN) Or a least a few hours away. But I thought that was a perfect example of what I want to start out with! And I have a Body/Paint guy marrying into the family. One of the best around(I say that because he's painted everything from old 'cuda's to Saleen S7's) so it would be perfect.

I jsut would like to know what the suspension it set up like. I fear that it is torsion bars and solid rear beam. That's why I love the 510's Independant suspension from the 70's! Kick Ass!

there's a black drugged out bum/hobo that has one of those, opn so many occasions I wanted to ask him if he'd sell it. I'm sure the crack ain't free, unless he does an even exchange, crack for crack.
