New Project Car

Well, I finally got my hands on 5th gen hatch. I buddy of mine just had too many (he had 4) and I convinced him to let one go. No cash involved, just a trade for some stuff that I had and he wanted/needed. It needs some work, especially in the rear quarter panels, but it seems as if every older Honda in Ohio does. It is a CX with a Z6 swap in it and it has a couple of issues such as the bouncy idle and it stutters at partial throttle but shouldn't be anything major. Anyway, we all know these threads are worthless without pics, so here goes :-\

Well, I gave him a low mileage Y8 that I had, a set of CRX seats, a set of Toyota Supra tail lights, a UR crank pulley for the Y8, a DPFI engine harness and I have to do a little stereo work on his hatch. So it wasn't free, but I think we both made out cause I wasn't doin' ---- with that stuff anyway.

As far as the exhaust goes, it is a Tuffy Muffler exhaust that is less than a year old, I have the warrantly paperwork so it will be repaired for free ;) It just has a broken hanger in the rear and a busted weld a little further up.

Those pics were taken yesterday...I cleaned it up a little today, ripped out a bunch of excess wiring and swapped ecu's and wired up the vtec ----.

It also has a complete energy supsension bushing kit up front and a set of cheap coilovers on it and the other Del Sol wheel is in the hatch.

Thanks Chad....I got rid of the motor that I wanted that harness for, so I gave hime the harness too. He is gonna sell it to somebody else because he has a Z6 harness that he is gonna use on the Y8 that is going into another 93 hatch that he has, LOL. I still owe ya one for the harness. I can't put any real money into this thing anytime soon, I really need to work on the Nissan and get the SR swap done.

thats a good find, those hatchbacks especialy those years are getting harder and harder to come by.

Re: New Project Car

Hatches overall are pretty easy to find, the real quest is finding a unmolested/rust free hatch with a reasonable price. I'm still smiling because of the auction i won 90 SI CRX 250k unmolested ready for rapz0rz :P

Looks like a good starting point and that rust isnt to bad to fix.It seems every project car has to have a bungee cord or ducktape holding something together. :y

yeah it actually came standard on some cx models. I have usually see them in blue. Those are black, looks a lot better, I'd rock it.

Wanna buy a cf lip, or a cf wing, lol!

enough of my hotrex plug, nice car. I'd totally rock it in a heartbeat. I've never owned a honda with a rust issue, but despite that, my cars were still in worse shape, lol! I dig it.

I know what ya mean, but I still love my 4th gen. I have people starting to ask if I am selling the 4th gen, but I don't think I can let her go. Plus I still have a lot of work to do on the EG before I would consider it a roadworthy dependable car.

It's all good Frank. Yea, I really need to get working on the Nissan. I am catching all kinda of hell from my friends cause I am not working on it. Yet, I get this car and start working on it right away :-\ Not putting any real money into it yet, bought some new plugs, wires (but honda gave me the wrong wires) cap and rotor looked ok. The car was running real fucked up and I found that the IACV and the purge control solenoid valve plugs were reversed and that made a huge difference and I am getting a code 7 for TPS still. I am going to check the tps voltages tomorrow and mabye give the valves an adjustment cause that seem to be a little noisy. It still has no intake on it, but I got an el cheapo on the way, lol. I also ordered some repair panels for the rear quarters, those were cheap too. I drove it a little today, seems to pull pretty good but the tires are so fucked it was all over the road with torque steer. I think it is gonna be a fun car.
