Heello,
New guy here. I currently own a 2004 Crossfire. In case you are not familiar with this car, it is buillt in Germany by Mercedes and is 100% MB. Is is really just a restyled SLK320. It is a great car but didn't have enough power so a year ago I removed the V6 and installed a V8 from Mercedes CL500. I now have the first V8 Crossfire in North America. It now has Corvette performance but it is time for even more. Because the V8 took every inch of the engine compartment I will have to use a rear mount turbo. the hardest thing to deal with on a Mercedes is the electronics. It took me two years to figure out how to hack the donor ECU and reprogram it to my car. but becuse I can now swap ECU's I have decided to add the turbo and use an ECU from a Mercedes 55 Kompressor car. The advantage of the 55K ECU is I get rid of the MAF and run speed density plus the ECU has a good baseline tune and expects to see boost. I have a tuner that can fine tune the car on the dyno. The thing that seems the most critical is turbo selection and I am trying to learn and get up to speed. I am hoping to get some pointers from you pros!
