Whats up everyone, My name is Jim and I currently drive a 1997 Honda Civic (NA). My plans to do a homeade Turbo Project will go in effect as of winter '04/'05. I currently have a CT-26 Turbo from a 1988 Toyota Supra Turbo. The site looks great and informative. Im gonna be doin ALOT of reading here in the next few months, are there any hints/tips anyone can give me?

thanks

That turbo might be too big for a d series if that's what you have, but it also might work. I've never seen a ct26 from a supra in a d, so it might work. As far as hints/tips, the best one anyone can give you is that, you need to read a lot and research everything until you have a complete understanding on how everything works. When you have specific quetions, feel free to ask, and someone will try to answer.

Welcome to HMT

It's so funny how you guys just start talking about other ---- and don't even realize it. :D

Jim, welcome to the site. I know alot of people say read, read, read, but this site isn't one of those sites that's boring as ----. Like your in a library or something.
Here we, Read, tell someone you think thier car is gay in GD, and read a little more. Call Hotrex a shitcock, and read some more. See, it's not like a library. ;D

Awesome..

First Id like to say: Al Pacino is the man!! so being off topic doesnt bother me one bit. As for calling ppl shitcocks Ill wait until I'm a regular!! lol

Thanks for the welcome Im sure you will all see alot of me around. Also if any of you are interested a bunch of ppl in my area have our own forum, feel free to post away!! : www.forum.rivalx.com

oh.. Why do you think the CT-26 will be too big? boost wise or size wise?

RENR 04-12-2004 03:48 PM

Re:New Member

haha we sure did get off topic. :P ive seen those used on d series motors before and they work just fine. youll have some lag but youll be getting a great top end. just try it and see how ulike it.

davcivic 04-12-2004 03:54 PM

Re:New Member

I had one of those, but never put it in a d series, sold it and never saw it again. Like he said it will have lag, but when it spools, it should hold pretty good all the way to redline. Try it, if you have it, if you don't like it later on, change it, but it should be ok on your car.

Hey welcome to the site guy. Ct26 turbo really isnt called for but you can get by with it. If you need any help or have any questions whatsoever, give me a holla and help u get up and running in no time, knowledge and parts wise

jbjc7703 04-13-2004 02:39 PM

Re:New Member

Why isnt it called for? I got a sweet deal and it came out of a supra that was family owned and well taken care of

Spenser 04-13-2004 02:50 PM

Re:New Member

i think it's not "called for" because almost no one has used them, so it would be hard to tell if it would work or not.

It'll definitely "work" The CT26 off the Supra's are nice turbos with I think its a 60 compressor. You'll have spool time but who really cares about spool time. You should be building a turbo kit for max power and a CT26 will definitely make some power on a D-series

Re:New Member

had a ct26 on a d16y7 and that thing pulled like a bitch. thats a nice turbo. if u dont want it ill trade u for my nissan t3. haha. nah thats a nice turbo u got there. a lil lag but it kicks. WELCOME TO HMT!!!

SpeedyJAY 04-13-2004 03:41 PM

Re:New Member

Whitey is right its a 60 trim, while most everyone else on this site has started with smaller 48 trims (t-25's and T-3's).

You just have to be a bit more detail oriented towards tunning. The good news is that you have room to grow on. Also the CT26 is a popular turbo to upgrade. A lot of guys on this site www.supraforums.com do a compressor upgrade for about 200-400$ and are able to squeeze out a bit more air out of this turbo
