You need more ram if you want to stay on vista. Mine have 2gb and the used ram is over 1.2gb most of the time...

Overall, IBM worth the money. I have one IBM and one HP and I dont want to sell it :( But I dont know now that they are fab by Lenovo...

yeah, im buying the ram elsewheres, its cheaper. 2GB stick for 40 bucks, compared to lenovo 60 dollars for 1 more GB.

and im downgrading it to windows xp pro.

i also upgraded the wireless card at the last minute.

are you manually downgrading it or are you having the place your buying it from do it?


i tried that with my laptop that came with vista and i was not able to because the video card is not supported in XP and the manufacture does not have an update for XP drivers and wont.


just double check that everything you have installed has xp drivers.

I guess I would pay $1k for a badass laptop. I'm mostly into the ~$250 ebay laptops that are slow as piss. :l

It's a laptop, whats the use of having much more than I have now?

Not sure of the hard drive speed but it's fast enough for, well, everything.

waste of money buy an apple laptop.
Why??? It's the smartest investment when it comes to laptops.
even if you immediately utrn around and put windows on it, the resale value of a mac TROUNCES what even a faster, more loaded PC laptop is worth down the road. The depreciation is less than half of a PC based laptop.


Don't believe it? Check your prices at the bay. Used PC based laptops after 2 years of ownership are what equivilant apple laptops are worth after 5 years. Apple fanboi's are stupid, but you can make some $$$ off them!
