Hey, sorry guys, I've been on the site a bit but I lost track of this thread and haven't been logged in so I didn't get the message till now.

Bit of an update, it was fun while it lasted... ::) We got it together and running, spent about a week of evenings getting a rough tune on it etc. Were on the highway pulling away from a 1100cc bike when it stopped runnning on all cylinders. Pulled it all apart and it turns out the owner messed up putting the bottom end together and left the top ring gaps too tight. Rings butted and took the top ring lands off three pistons. No signs of detonation at all, and it was running ~11.5-12:1 still so there's lots left in it. Got it up to 15ish psi and 7500rpm. Its in the process of getting forged guts put in it so it will be even more fun next summer with real VW style boost. ^-^. If anyone's interested a factory ford airpump pulls 5inhg at about 1200 rpm and about 10 at 4000rpm with 0 modifications other that plugging it in backwards. Cheapest crankcase evac ever.

To answer a few questions, the bottom end wasn't anything fancy, 1 size over keith black hypereutectic pistons, forged rods and a stock early 302 crank. Heads were stock but ported. Turbos made 10psi by 3500ish, and 15(peak) about 1 rpm after that.

Never bothered to get the fuel gauge working with the fuel cell and first time he took it to a cruise it ran out of gas and fried the pump. $300 and a lot of embarassment later he learned how fast boost and displacement will chew through gas.

Anyways, here's a few more pics after it sat in the driveway under a pine tree for a month...

Don't have any pics of the whole car. Picture a bone stock 1985 mustang. Stock 2 tone grey/black paint, stock wheels, mostly stock exhaust tips, stock(ish) ride height. Only thing that gives it away is the sump at the back and the FP/boost gauges on the cowel.

Ya, he's rocking the 10 holes.

Management is megasquirt, no spark atm, just fuel.
