new elantra stereo removal

Default new elantra stereo removal

how do you get the stereo out? pins? clips?screws? any prying involved??

Oh wait, you mean take it out legally? Oh, I dunno?

There are 4 phillips screws, 2 above the cluster in the bezel, and 2 behind the ashtray. The ashtray comes out if you push down on the flap thing on it. After that, there are 6 screws, 4 in the radio and 2 in the pocket below it. You need to take all of them out to get it out. Then there are 2 screws that attach the pocket to the radio. That's it. Also, you need to unplug the lighter, the hazard switch, the clock, and the dimmer (I think, can't remember off the top of my head), and the rear wiper if it's an Elentra GT. It's really pretty easy.

cool thanks ive done stereos before. its my roommates car and i have not even looked at it. i just finished sodering the harness and wanted to see if someone knew the removal of the deck.
