Nice choice. I think I'm going to look at older evolutions when I get out of school as a practical daily driver. It's a well built car and if you take care of it, the car holds it's value and demand.

That car is gaysauce. And a hybrid in the crx? Did Honda even know what kind of people typically own crx's?

All this combined with the "good" evo tranny and the latest flash programs available should be interesting....

Hate to burst your bubble, but the latest flash programs can't even come close to doing anything with the X's. For the '03-'06 Evo's they used a MUTIII protocol, which even though it's proprietary to Mitsu, is still pretty easily decipherable to anyone with a decent tech knowledge of hex binary and a disassembler. The newest Evo X release has swapped over to a Can-Bus protocol, which so far is being used on '07 and up models from Mitsu, and so far has proven to be un-flashable and almost unreadable with the normal hex disassemblers. The fact that it's throttle-by-wire is not really a big deal, late model Sti's with tbw are being flashed with EcuFlash and no issues.

Early reports that I've heard on the motor is that it's an open deck design similar to honda, so if it's true I really can't see it taking abuse as well as the older cast iron closed deck 4g63t's. All in all I'd say give it at least a year or 2 before buying one, just to see what the issues and tuning solutions will be, or go buy an '06 Evo IX and have fun.

As for the Cr-z posted above, that thing is a mockery to the name Honda. :3
