its gonna be heavy and $$$$ to modify

unless they make it 2200lbs or less its worthless.
and it needs the TYPE-S engien not that oversized B16 they have in the Si

well freind the days of ANY car sold on american soil being less then 2200lbs are gone.. It will however be 200 hp 2 seat fastback sports coupe from honda which is an extremely nice idea.. furthermore, need I mention that any new car is "$$$$$" to modify

So is it going to be like the old CRX's where people like us make them fast for cheap or are THEY going to make them fast. If so, top dollar which sucks. No one wants to boost or swap a brand new car anyway.

The Lotus Elise is currently sold in America and it is less than 2000 pounds (1984 lbs).

With the price, the weight to power, and the complicated new computer systems, I'd probably spend the same amount trying a new platform all together. Like a Cobalt!!! ;)

The simple honda's that we all like to play with, with interchangable motors, ect. are gone. The only thing honda can do now is make just another new car, cause nobody else is going simple, swapable engines either.


OBD2 was the last straw.

agreed...although thanks to todays yuppies probably won't happen ::) I wanna see this thing bare bones...optional A/C, no PS, optional ABS, optional sunroof and roll up windows. then compliment it with some nice racing style buckets a decent yet not too futuristic dash setup(no NAV option, crazy LEDs and all that BS)...a ------- DRIVER'S car!

but what motor would be nice in there? I think something with 140-160hp would do it good as long as it can keep the weight down. I guess it'll probably be the K20, but unrelated to the CRX I have heard rumors of Honda developing a D18?(not sure if its out yet, completed or not)

EDIT: just read the article....seems the 1.8 is already out....maybe throw that 1.8 in the new CRX with a healtheir valvetrain and upped compression

Time will tell alot of things, and I'm in agreement that I hope they stick with many of the features (or lack of) that we know and love about the crx. I'm hoping Honda did their market research in finding out what crx owners like about their cars as well as what prospective future buys are looking for.. I'm simply hoping for an updated version of what I have. As for customization options, people and companies will always figure out ways to do things >:D

Finally! ::) I was talking with my pap the other day about how Honda needs to re-release the CRX, they would make so much money, it'd be a perfect revival... I hope they don't let us down.

when the crx first came out nobody knew ---- about em (nobody as in the majority)
in 10 years when all the then kids will be able to afford them, a lot will have been learned

give me a ------- break.. my point wasnt "is there a nere $50,000 extremely, hard to find.. extremely true all aluminum sports car that one could buy that weighed under 2200lbs" I was merely commenting on the likely hood of one going out and finding anything in the standard car market under 2200.. btw.. that preview looks photoshopped to all hell but it has alot of the known styling upgrades Ive seen mentioned in press releases and the previews of next gen civics.

well thats an invalid statement.. double wishbone isnt the end all know all of performance suspension.. lots of people race the rsx which isnt double wishbone

If cost is below 22 and they can get 210 out of the motor itll be a fun car that will sell well. Im sure itll be a nice car but it wont be a crazy performer proably another low 15 sec car with fair handling
