They did ALOT better job than they did with the Charger....they should've at least offered the R/T model cars as a 2 door. And NONE of them really have Hemi's...
i'm pretty sure the new challenger will be much much faster than the challenger of the 60s... seriously...

the srt8 challenger will probably make 425hp, but the normal hemi one won't

and if you think those old challenger ran anything but mid 14s you're crazy!

Yea challenger is beautiful in comparison, I never noticed how much so until you put them side by side. As far as looking similar, almost all the muscle cars have that same swooping bulged out rear quarterpanel look with the gaping front end

They didn't have much to work with if they were keeping it retro

I'd scalp many for a '68 Hemi Dart with the original white paint/black hood... Gone are the days of factory race cars being sold to the public.

So you think the new HEMI engine is a better engine and capable of more power than the HEMI of old, what were they 426 small block and 511 big blocks(I don't know if factory cars were available with the big block)?? Yeah, in stock trend the newer, lighter car will probaly be superior to the older car in terms of acceleration(and probaly many other terms). But if you put equal amounts of money into both engines, which do you think will respond better to the money you put into. How much will it cost you to supercharge or turbo the new gen Hemi engine with all the OBD2 and emissions bs you have associated with that engine. Now compare that to the $$ needed to boost the small block, CARBURATED hemi. I wonder what FearsomeDan has in his sbc?? Bet it wouldn't take much more to do tha same to the hemi...

511ci Hemi stock? Don't think that ever happend. Chrysler Hemi's were 392 and 426. Realize, building a 426 based Hemi today is more expensive than you want to think about. So figure $40k for a nice one making 700-800hp.. $40k into an LSx will get you a fuckton more. Oh yeah, have fun with the old Hemi valvetrain There are no big/small block Hemi's....

no one said anything about modified or cost. why do people always bring this type of ---- into an arguement about stock cars.

the new challenger will smoke an old one in every category
