New Car?

Sup people, i came across a 1989 Honda CRX HF. he guy wants only 800 for it. it need a new windshield, cv, and FL fender but other then that its in good shape its a 5spd and only has 158xxx miles on it. I am pretty confident that i will get it. Its blue/blue and the interior is in ok shape it just looks like it was out in the sun to long. what do you guys think i should do with it when i get it?
Oh yeah dont say its worthless without pics cause i dont have a camera anyways so just shut up.

Re:New Car?

gutting an ef is a waste of time

gutted mine, took EVERYTHING OUT and got maybe 50 lbs
the dash is the heaviest thing asside the front seats

Re:New Car?

if you cut out the front and rear bumber supports, half the rad support, cut out the inside of the passenger door, cut out the crash bar inside it, cut out the rear hatch and remove the wiper motor, thats alot of weight. rear seat belts.

lexan rear windows, a small asa mini gas tank (ghetto fuel cell) carpet, tar paper, dash and accesories, heater core, firewall blanket.

if you do that, it changes the car so much. there are also some supports inside the car that you can unbolt. But now your car feels like a big mushy shopping cart. next up is a role cage and upper and lower strut tower bars.

^ Is that what you did/are doing to your ride?

Re:New Car?

i haven't done all of that... I'm kinda addicted to handling mods now...I made a rear strut tower bar and it made so much difference. im hooked... my plans are...

-go trough the car and weld up all the joints, most joints are only spot welded from the factory.
-custom upper strut bars (triangle front)
-custom lower strut bars
-roll cage tying into all the stress points of the car.
-custom front tracion bar, clevis mounts.
-polyurathane bushings, and in some machined metal bushings.
-welded motor mounts.
-front inner fender braces.
-upper front brace.
-battery relocation.
-fill the frame with industrial foam

-switch over the teg front struts,(i got rear already, 8 ways baby) 92-95 upper balljoints (you gotta cut out the strut tower a bit)
- EG sway bars.

-and some ------- pimp tires mounted
-15 inch rims to clear my Type R brakes ;)

8)
