Not a fan of VW, but cool.

Lately I've been wanting a DSLR camera after seeing how well the pictures come out. Regular digital cameras look "good" until you see pictures from SLRs.

What camera and how much

So you bought that camera eh. Where did you end up finding one?

Nice Gti by the way.... man I miss mine... :'(

There should be a setting on that camera somewhere for like a focal point. on mine its called facial recgonition or something. but it will focus in on a certain point you select. so on this shot you could focus on the car in the background in stead of the post of the fence even thoguh the fence is what the camera sees in the center.

i got a power shot G7 which is quite a few steps down from your but still has one metric ass ton of options. I bought it in Feb and I am still learning it.

Nice shots. Car looks surprisingly good for a VW too. I actually don't mind the newer GTI's and GLI's that much.

After looking through some of the photo contest threads on h-t and now this one, I'm not sure if it's just me or if you have to get the photos printed to make it obvious, but I fail to see even one bit of difference between any of those and this one taken on my Best Buy discount special Cybershot at only 1mp and then ghetto resized courtesy of imageshack.

And one at 4mp, just for comparison.

It makes a difference if you are printing a banner or blowing it up HUGE but if you aren't anything around 4mp is good for you.

more megapixels is pretty more for marketing than anything else. People just think "it has more, it must be better" when in reality it is unnecessary. The reason SLRs have such great pictures isn't because of their resolution, its because it has good optics, extra features, and you can manually set almost everything. I think about 4-6mp is a good number.

megapixles has to do with the resolution, not the quality. And spoonfed, what are you hood ride now? you need to get off that tip man, those kids will give you all kinds of aids. :3 If you're going to play with Volkswagens, do it HMT style. :)

What lens does it have?

Are you shooting in manual mode? Those are pictures anyone could expect from a dslr camera.

If you're serious about photography, read your manual and memorize all your cameras features. There are tons of tutorials all over the internet.

Nice VW's tho. I hate working on them.

All your pictures have are either over or under exposed. Also, you need to manual focus and play with the white balance.

Stop with the neck breaking angles tho. It's really gay.

As far as composure goes tho, you get an A+. The setting is excellent for all pictures.

Keep at it man. I wish I had a dslr.

Those pics were mostly taken about 15minutes after we bought it. We are slowly learning the features....there is sooo much to learn!!! hahaha
this camera is only 8.1 megapixels....mp means ---- unless you are making your picture huge.

I'm learning all about aperature, exposure, wb...etc

I love dslr, I was doing alot of 35mm b&w but with the digital camera its just so much more convenient. I have an olympus e-volt and its a great camera not ridiculously expensive ether.
