Re:New to the board.....

Well howdy partner my name is Pat and forgive me for not knowing what all that Spec-V SRD20DET redtop powered S12 means. I am guessing one of those words is a motor and the other words have to do with your cars. Anything turbocharged is pretty cool though and this site has lots of great info about turbos so welcome. Maybe we can create some kind of honda/nissan hybrid monster car with your nissan knowledge.

Oh yeah have any of you guys seen that episode of Super Tuners TV were the hondas raced against the nissans? If I remember right the hondas won. ;)

Come on now we all know that Nissan is the big dawg....lol
that was a ploy for Super tuner T.V to sell more altezza's and bodykits to civic owners......(J/P)

And for the un known info...."02" Nissan sentra SE-R Spec-V x 2= my two dailys (red one is the old ladies) and yes an SR20 is a motor (Originaly in the sylvia <nissan JDM car> of japan) and An S12 if you read is the chassis code for a USDM/JDM RWD nissan 200SX.....

I'm new as well. Welcome Dahkuan. I'm sure some of you have seen a few replies to some other post's. I'm just doing what I can to either help out, learn, and figure out what the hell I am going to do with this car I'm working on.

Re:New to the board.....

Sylvias Rock!! My best friend and I are currently building a S15 out of a 96 240sx. We are using a S13 redtop. All we have left is wiring, and what a ------ bitch that is. If you have any info or links, send em my way. We are even willing to send the harnesses out to have them done. We are doing the body conversion from the doors up. Bomex front bumber and OEM carbon hood. Huge APEX FMIC and a Koyo radiator. We just did the 300ZX 5 lug conversion last week. Its a sweet project, I'm trying to get him to upgrade to a T-28 so I can have the T-25 for my Civic.

Re:New to the board.....

thank you. and since this is a "new guy post" I figure what better way to keep it alive than to post a problem I am trying to work out currently with my little project.
The issue at hand is on the drivers side between the door and the fender. Yes, there is a rather large gap that I'd like to eliminate. I'm pretty sure that the fender is all lined up as all the bolts are now in there. Here are some pics. Hope they work.
Drivers side:

passenger side:

The passenger side is fine (at least I think so. The thing is, is that the drivers door seems to be aligned perfect. It opens and closes just fine. I'm really stumped here. I should also mention that I am also a week new (as of last week) to auto body and to please excuse the mess as I am trying to "prep" it for a paint job. Thank you in advance to anyone who may have a solution for me.

Re:New to the board.....

loosen the bolts and slide the fender back some, there is a larger hole than just the bolt spacing, there should be enuf room to snug it fit. hope that helps.

was it in an accident?? possibly bent frame?

Re:New to the board.....

I do body work for a living...If both fenders were crumpled, which it looks as though, it may not be the frame it could be as simple as the radiator support.(core support)
what kinda car? if its a CRX i would say you o pull the core support.....To find out if its outa sqare pull a tape measure from left front to right back of engine compartment, and the other side as well...(making an X) if its more than an 1/4" out your gonna have to pull it..if its less you should be able to adjust your fenders but measure it without the fenders on....(measure it first before doing anytg drastic...)

Ok, I think I get it. I'll try that tonight. I've had this car since last March. It's a 91 Civic Si hatch. It's a salvage title car. I measured the fenders (left front bolt to right rear bolt) before I bought it and it measured ok. Haven't done it withough the fenders on before. I'm pretty sure that these are aftermarket fenders. Thanks for the help. I'll be back...

fantastic, I've accepted the fact that there will always be someone faster than you out there. What do you have?

Re:New to the board.....

Ok, just got back. I was able to snug it up a little better but not to where I'd like it to be. I think I'm going to need a second hand/arm to keep it in the position I want it in. It does look better already but I'm pretty sure that it can be better. I'll get a second opinion tonight. Thanks everyone for your help so far... I'll be back!
