Update this thread when the software is available? I'm curious as to the nature of the input/output hijacks, I can possibly pervert them to do interesting things.

If this had a wideband controller i would be all over it. Right now ive got Chrome Pro with a PLX 300 and the moates datalogger. What sort of advantages would there be with Neptune. Are there features that work with Neptune that are not available with Chrome. I think if you did a side by side comparision it would be alot easier for people who arent experts to see why there is an advantage to using Neptune.

It is hard to do a complete physical side by side comparison...mostly its the same, with a TON of other optional things you can do, and EVERYTHING works, where it doesnt in Crome (or Hondata).

You could tune the same car on both platforms, and probably come out with similar results on a stock-like setup. You are just able to do more with Neptune...once the software comes out public you will see what I mean.

JD, check out the two screen shots...

I'd suggest adding an option where timing can be adjusted based on a voltage input. Then anyone with a strong electronics backround can set up a nice traction control system. I plan on working this idea this year for our FSAE car.

Adjusting timing is going to end up so retarded you start nuking exhaust valves, that's not the way I'd do it, and that's not the way anybody does it.

Either total injector cut, or control boost. I'd like more nuts and bolts details on the boost controller deal, and I'm wondering if inputs can be configured to accept unamped freq inputs or if I have to freq-voltage convert things first? Idea is to cut boost when (rear) ABS wheelspeed input gets outstripped by VSS. I already have a method of doing this via piggybacks but it's a bit of ------- around with the hardware in the first place.

The timing adjustment isn't a total fix but a partial fix. Boost control isn't an option for us as we are naturally assperated. 5* one way or the other for a couple of seconds shouldn't result in EGT changes in a significant manner. I should note significance in my world is something that could cause failure. If the car goes even slightly faster and the engine doesn't nuke, it's a success in my eyes.

What sort of racing? ~225whp, normal decent NA streetcar power, in 2000 lbs doesn't need traction control unless you are cone chasing.

Isn't Formula SAE racing cone chasing?

chris can you explain the feature that allows you to switch multiple maps? That sounds like it'd be awesome to have if you want to run different fuels. Would you just wire it up to a switch? Looks like it has a lot of other neat features, like clearing codes with the brake pedal :1 someone really thought this one out!

Those guys use bike engines, I doubt they use OBD1 Honduh car ECUs to run them.
