Its liek a mini FR. if you crack yoru router open you may be able to locate the little Aftermarket anntenna hook up. Its like a Coax only like 8 times smaller and not coax lol, i was about to build one last month but thats what stopped me. It was for a ladys business but I said ---- it just buy a 30 dollar router and will brige em. I think i have a URL that explains it and gives spots to buy them from, Ill go home at lunch and look.

Re: Need WIFI help
The router does not have that connection on the inside, just solder points. It would be completely useless for them to add cost to the router for absolutely no reason by adding that connector internally. A lot of routers are also never made to be disassembled, they are just put together and never intended to be opened which is why often times you need to glue them back together .

Thanks, those are both helpful. I think I will still look at cracking this router open, to see what I can solder too.
Does anyone have good wifi finder software? The windows XP one sucks. It is not accurate, does not refresh, and holds onto "known" signals till well after they are actually gone.

you can always use backtrack live linux distro as well Comes with a lot of nice tools, including the aircrack suite for cracking wep/wpa connections if the guy ever decides to encrypt it.

wubi is a linux installer that installs ubuntu as an application. It doesnt alter anythiong on your hard drive, and all you have to do to start it up is choose it from the boot menu. try it out. if you dont like regular ubuntu, u can try xubuntu. i like xlce better than gnome any day.
