Re:need to start car with no key

there is a white plug on the back of the steering lock. undo it and use anything to turn the car on. as for the steering lock itself, just get some channel locks or a dremmel and cut it off... worked for me when i lost my keys to the old hatch.........

Re:need to start car with no key

why dont you have a lock smith make you one, its only about 20 bucks usually, its better then ripping the column apart and rigging the ignition

I refuse to believe that you cut through the steering lock with a dremel or ripped it off with channel locks.

yeah that also works...you have to jimmy it ..go up and down in a outward motion and t should work fine....just keep at it...
repeat this till you unlock the steering column

Re:need to start car with no key

its easy
just break off the ignition lock with a small crow bar, or somehting you can get a little leverage on. and then unscrew the little white thing on the other side and wallaaa put a flat screw driver in their and turn it to the right.

^^^^ best method

Break off the collar then on the bottom left there will be this ehh couple of bolts or screwes i cant remember ( it will be directly in line with the ignition) remove that and you will get this thingymajig with like 2 wires or so attached just turn the little white thing and car turns on, if it's working : P.

Re:need to start car with no key

Yeah, you can rip your entire steering column apart with crow bars and ----, or you can just take the 4 screws out of the plastic cover and remove the 2 flathead screws that hold the ignition lock on and be done with it.

Re:need to start car with no key

When I bought my hatch it had no keys and the ignition was just hanging. I bought all new door locks, trunk lock and entire ignition assembly for like $80. Well worth it IMO.

Re:need to start car with no key

lmao looks like it came out of the junkyard lol. just go to honda with the vin and title and there cut you a new key. its only like $10 to have it done. and you wont get pulled over an have to deal with the ---- the cop is going to give you for ------- up your ignition, hell think its stollen right off the bat you know.. otherwise there is 2 break off bolts that hold it to the steering shaft, dremmel slots in the tops of them and pull them out. steering lock will go with it. but serriously just go to honda, its much easier.

It takes about 15 seconds to do if you rip the plastic off and about 30 if you unscrew the plastic.
