Need specs on 01 audi a4 1.8t quatro local dealer is a dumbass
 

whadup guys my dad's considering buying a 01 audi a4 1.8t quatro with the tiptonic/automatic and im trying to do some reaserach on it sice itll be my graduation gift when i finsh school next year(i gotta take over the payments). I called up the local dealer dude was trying to argue with me the car has 200whp :), well does anyone have any expeirence with these cars,,, my ricing days are almost over and i just want a quick whip that looks like i growed up ;D

my questions are
how do i know which one's came with forged internals
what kind of turbo i thkink KKK? and how much boost?
how good is the tiptoinc ----? testdriving it wasnt that bad but will it live if i mod it to 250whp range and is anyone doning cheap ecu tuning for it? so far cheapest premade ecu chip i found is $400 and its just generic ----

They're not really all that fast. Something like 17 seconds stock? They're heavy as ----. I don't trust any tiptronic transmission unless it's in a really high dollar sports car....and I don't have to worry about that.

Plus, 200whp is ridiculous, IIRC they make less than 200whp but more than 150. The turbo is about as big as my fist, it's like a K something or other. That's about all I really know about these, I considered getting a 97-99 one since they're lighter but they make less power too.

If I were you I'd get an older one with a 5spd, AWD, and the 1.8t. If I were to get a newer one I'd still get a 5spd but I'd get the 6cyl and do an HMT on it. Tell him to look at M3's instead ;D

that's not a 1.8t....

The 1.8t is either 150hp or 180hp.

if you want a nice car get a lexus, cadillac, or an acura. dont even ---- around with an audi. Unless you like tons of plastic in the engine bay, and electronic ---- randomly breaking. its no good.

theres some old school like 80s to early 90s quatros around where i live, those are the only years i like. finding one thats clean and low miles would be a pain. the nicest one that i would like to have is an 85 quatro 4 door with an early 90s 5 cyl swap and mad turbo boost this thing ------ smokes all 4 slicks at local auto x events.

1.8t is 180 hp, 180 tq. stock, the awd set up is stronger than a dsm's awd set up, but its still not indestructable, i wouldnt get a tiptronic, get a manual tranny, they have a tiny ass kkk turbo stock, but with a front mount, new charge pipes, full exhaust, a modest turbo upgrade, and an apr tuned ecu, they can make good power 250+ whp, and will haul some ass, but audis are not cheap to fix when they break, they need a new t-belt every 50k miles, and awd launches will shatter the clutch disc in a jiffy... :y

audis are nice, audi can be fun, but that one is slow. drove it and was dissapointed. Would i still buy one? yep cause i like the look. oh and the dealership you spoke with, buy it from a different salesman :8

They are slow, My pos Automagic maxima will got you beat :P . all those newer v6 accord/ v6camry/ civic SI/rsx typeS/ will get you :X

A 01 A4 cost around 13000 to 15000 :l :X
All these cars i am listing are within the same price range, and everyone of them will smoke your Audi A4 :8 .The Lexus are very nice and fast(300horse 300tq) for what it is but i doubt u will like it :l
