Re: need some help with my laptop
If your computer is recognizing the network SSID then that would indicate the driver for the card is installed and the card is operational. If you still can't connect, make sure your router is set to transmit/receive wireless B and G (Mixed). Then input all you WPA security info (if the network is locked) and you should be able to connect.

go to start, then connections or connect to, then hit show all connections. right click the local area connection and hit disable. then go to the left side and hit create new connection and follow the setup wizard. a ------ could do it

Your computer is broken forever. Send it to me for shipping costs and I will try to repair it to send it to needy African children to do homework on.

Re: need some help with my laptop
i would find a modle number and download the driver set. sometimes if you are using lets say a linksys card it will want to use lynksys software to see the networks and not the built in windows. Right click my computer and choose manage. Then selece device manager from the left. do you see any question marks? if so what does it say?
