In case someone has not mentioned this...
Watercool.
I am the HMT king of overclocking, any new PC you buy, get that ---- watercooled. Quiet, inexpensive, Cool - looking, and overclocking potential will expand another 200+ mhz.
Typing this on a barton 2500+ 1.8 @ 2.8g.
All of the other ---- is trivial.
Nvidia gfx + nf4 + Amd = FTW.

and what processor exaclty is 4.0ghz referring to? the AMD 4000+ ? cuz thats an overpriced piece of plastic! you only need a 3500+ at most.
160gb seagate hard drive (sata) .................. 69.98
2x512mb Kingston HyperX........................... 53.98 ea x2 = 107.96 (each has a $25 mail in rebate)
BenQ DVDRW............................................. 39.99
AMD Athlon 3500+...................................... 155.25
eVGA 7600GS-512mb.................................. 188.10 -$10 instant rebate
Asus A8N-E motherboard NF4....................... 105.99
Antec Sonata II.......................................... 109.98

Total............................................. ............ 723.27 BEFORE rebates (-60 after rebates) + Shipping/taxes
Remember, thats all in CDN currency too!
I made some assumptions / changes based on things you did not list like the motherboard, case, dvdrw and brand names of things (like hdd etc). Even still hopefully you can now see how much they are ripping you off for. Most likely you are NOT getting a motherboard or case nearly as good as the ones i listed.
PM me your budget and EXACTLY what you expect to use the PC for (as well as small things you need like LCD? Keyboard/mouse? speakers?) and we'll figure something out. Ncix.com has an option to completely assemble it for you too.
