If he spit piston/valve chunks through the intake/exhaust and back into the engine there's a good chance the other three pistons are ruined. Last engine I saw do that my gut reaction was the other three pistons were good to go but the topmost ring land had been crushed and the top ring was pinned tight so it no longer floated correctly. There's a good chance he needs four new pistons.

Glad it didn't happen in boost or you might need a turbine wheel too.
