Need Help Please... Anybody from Japan

Re: Need Help Please... Anybody from Japan
I've been following this skyline bs for about 3 years now, and the only reason I've stayed away from buying one is it will be way too much of a pain to deal with. Currently, there is no working OBD2 system for a skyline, almost all the R33's were done a 1995 models. The NHTSA basically shafted the skyline community by making it so only 1996-1998 R33's with dual SRS can be eligible for importation, with full knowledge that you can modify a 1995 R33 to have the passenger side airbag, there was even a short petition to allow the 1995 to be added to the eligibility list, which was declined. Basically, NHTSA knows there is no working obd 2 system, which keeps all obd2 skylines from being federalized due to EPA, and they won't even let you bring in an OBD1 car anymore. The only way, at this point in time to get a Skyline into the country is to send it over as parts; which can be done if you buy the car in Japan, take it apart there and send it in as a Chassis. Kind of like how the nobles are imported.
