www.grainger.com

you might have to buy a female and a male, then wire them together with the correct polarity.

Use 240V hubbel locking plugs.

bare wires, jam them into the socket and duct tape the wire to the recepticle until it stops moving around. or jbweld the wires into the socket

Ok if its a two vert and one ground thats 115, one vert one horiz is a 20A+ 115v, and two horiz are 220.

Simple to do single phase.
115V 15A - 50A service you use single breaker, use 10/3 or 8/3 Romex wire. On the outlet brass hooks to the black(hot) silver to the common(white)
and green to the ground.

220 50Ax2 service uses 2 breakers, use 8/3 or 4/3 Romex wire. Your black wire hooks to breaker 1, white wire to breaker 2, and bare or green to common. When wiring the plug up the black and white are hooked to the blades and common to the round.

It's only a 2 wire plug. It's either 2 hots and a ground(220v) or a hot, neutral and a ground(120v).

Go to the hardware store or HomeDepot and get the right plug. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to swap them and cost around $5. :1

There we go, Dr Boost FTW! Does it matter which hot wire goes to which termainal? The two hots on the plug are different sizes.

Ya one spade terminal is wider then the other like some 110 plugs but I dont know why since it has the top ground so its not like you could ---- that up. Thanks MrBoost :)

I was relatively drunk when I wrote that its 2 hots and one ground. Other than that the rest is correct.

ground is assumed in wiring, it doesn't actually carry current like hots do.

Dang! He must be smart! :o Ask him how many feet of 8-2 I can run before I have to upgrade to 6-2 due to the length of the run, also assuming this is for a 50amp air conditioning condenser with a seperate FAU.

Ground is NOT assumed. It is part of the count. 14/3 is two carriers and a ground.

No grounds not assumed, and it doesnt always have two hot leads its one hot one common(neutral).
14-3 is 3 wires all coated, 14-2G also has 3 wires two are coated ones not. 14-2 has two coated wires.

Obviously they are not designated hot/neutral/ground.

I didn't know about the "G" though. Thanks for the info.
