Need brakes anybody try these cross drilled rotors with titanium performace pads

I need new pads and rotors up front, are these any better than stock? they look a little nicer than stock, goggled and found people loved the brembos, anybody try these? for 120 shipped (rotors+pads)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...QQcmdZViewItem

or i could just go stock rotors with ceramic pads? or hit up the autozone special for around $80?

seems like a decent set up for cheap. As long as your not doing any super strenuous mtn. driving you should be good with those. Aggressive driving calls for aggressive stopping. Looks good to me
Depending on how much your OEM rotors are, you might could even get new OEM rotors and get something like EBC green stuffs pads, or MBCs

somewhat......cross drilled rotors are usuless, but a good set of pads will help along with stainless lines. ends up being cheaper in the end anyways

I recently looked into brake setups for the shuttle, and after reading through some of the road racing forums, it seems they speak highly of autozone "duralast" (or some ----) rotors, so that's what I'm getting. ---- all that money on some fancy ---- behind my wheels. They'll work.

NAPA premium rotors and Axxis Metal Masters.

brembo blanks (not drilled or slotted by some faggot in his garage for ebay) hawk pads ;)

my brembo blanks warped in about 3k miles :-\ needless to say i wasnt too pleased. went to some el-cheapo rotors and havent had any problems since

Brembo blanks, cheap and effective.

Got my brembo blanks off Nopi.com a while back and they were fairly cheap

i'm running brembo slotteds and hawk pads. work like a charm. car stops hard for having rear drums. same setup is going on the turbo car with the addition of stainless lines. but like they say, your car only stops as well as your tires are. i found that out the hard way a few times O0

yup. my $250 apexi slotted rotors warpped. im about to order some autozone rotors here shortly. someone on HT did a track test on the auto zone rotors and high $$ brembos, and after the exact same laps in the same car, same driver /etc etc the brake temps were only like 10degrees apart. id stay far far far away from those ebay rotors. they are known to crack, warp and everything else that you dont want your brakes to do. I know you might not be into track racing and just want something for the streets but a $20 rotor from autozone and some $60 hawk HP pads from king motorsports will run you the same amount of $$ and be 10x's better...not to mention the peice of mind.

autozone rotors, hawk HP pads, stainless lines and some DOT4 fluid FTMFW.

I use the ---- outta my brakes. ;)

mad cheap rotors and high quality pads FTW O0

hawk HP plus wroks really really good but it wores out the rotors pretty quick, I had the pads for a year with new rotors and now the rotors are completely gone, the pads actually DIG into the rotors.

---- rotors gone after a year, how many miles did you put on them? do you slam them everywhere you go or go to the race track alot?

I'm thinking bout just doing the duralast rotors(autozone $20x2) and hawk hp plus pads so around a hundred bucks for better braking.... and may be the stainless lines, does it make a big difference? cars probably going turbo this spring so i could use the extra stoppin power... i'm trying to stay away from boost but that ---- just isnt happening

about 13000 ish miles, I am not that hard on the brakes LOL
u really got to try those pads out, After having it for 2 DAYS, it out perform everyother pad i`ve tried and my rotor looks like they`ve been re-surfaced :1 .

holy ---- i want to but i dont want to change rotors every year, my 98 civic still has the original rotors it left the factory with 100k miles, do they squeal a lot?

I am just going to buy integra breaks all the way around. Less heat build up. I think I will just run stock rotors and some ebc pads. i pick them up next week.

Re: Need brakes anybody try these cross drilled rotors with titanium performace

Hm, once I pick up my beater teg I'm throwing on some ITR/Legend calipers I got. 11.1" in the front and 10.4" in the back. I've heard conflicting reports on what size the rotors are, but it doesn't matter because they're big as hell. I think doug684 will be getting the tegs stock calipers to throw on his del slo.

I guess it'll be Autozone rotors and Hawk pads for me...

I had Axxis Ultimates on my civic and they were amazing. They didn't wear to quickly, were very quiet, and worked very well. I highly recommend them. Bought them from LSD

Re: Need brakes anybody try these cross drilled rotors with titanium performace

I'm getting ready to order mine and confused about pads (doing autozone duralast rotors $20x2)

Looked on LSD's page cant find the Axxis Ulitmates, it only has slotted rotors on there WTF?

Found these prices online (free shipping) http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/20A50531A1.aspx (Ek Ex)

Hawk HPS $45
EBC Red Stuff Brake Pads $60
EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads $53
EBC Yellow Stuff $68
EBC Ultimax Brake Pads $39

Price is pretty much the same, which one should i go for if i want better braking without too much dust/noise? Should i do SS brake lines too? about $ 80 shipped, i have good tires (14" all season's with 90% thred) and will porb see boost again this spring or summer?

ps i know im being a ----- but i hate doing brakes, i just want to do it right the first time and get it over with

pm lsd...he'll hook u up..

Re: Need brakes anybody try these cross drilled rotors with titanium performace pads

the stainless lines helped stiffen the pedal a bit, and the brakes are much more responsive.
EBC pads can suck a dick, there is a reason tirerack.com doesnt carry them anymore.

i honestly dont recommend autozone rotors with any type of decent race pad. Like someone said above, your just gonna pay for new rotors in a year when you could have spent the extra money and bought a decent set of brembos or powerslots to begin with.

vatozone rotors and axxis metal masters and drums in the rear. That ---- work so good, made you think you were running stock rotors and aftermarket pads. :P

wierd, my friend went through 2 pairs of those autozone rotors in less than 3 months.

switched to brembo blanks and has been fine for a year.

You have to get the right rotors. They sell the duralast..some other ----...and then the mad tight HMT everlasting brokeass trickbitch rotors. YOu just have to ask for them.

EBC Green = daily street use with good stopping power, better than most premium pads at the auto parts store imo
EBC Red = Some hardcore daily use and decent track use. I tend to swap these on my hatch when I'm doing some twisty action or solo2. A step up from the greens, but feel a little soft at first and grab hard as temp rises.
EBC Yellow =All out track use. Don't use these on the street, they're soft and unresponsive until they're nice and hot. Once heated up, they'll slam your face into the steering wheel, but takes a bit to warm up.
EBC Ultimax is pretty much a stock style replacement, kinda like the high end pads from autozone.
I run slotted rotors on my hatch, seem to grab a little bit better than regular ones, and also s.s. brake lines...one of the best things I ever did to improve braking.

Re: Need brakes anybody try these cross drilled rotors with titanium performace

I bought some e-bay ones. I think they were "Aerospeed' rotors. I have had them for like two years and they work fine with no warping after who knows how many miles. I even did some towing where they brakes got stuck on and they still haven't warped. It cost me like $35 for those rotors too. I like the e-bay cheapo ----, all that I have still works.
