Need advice (no....it ain't about chicks)
 

Howdy,

So there's this fella that's driving a front clip to me from California. We've agreed on $1400 + $500 for his expenses. He prefers cash, and I can understand that. However, I'm a bit leary about giving someone almost $2,000 with no proof of the transaction.

So, should I make up a little receipt, give him part cash + a check or what? Gotta cover my ass...

Pay him credit card through paypal. if you dont get the product put a stop payment on his ass.

Well, he's driving up here now....and we're gonna unload it in my garage. So, I plan on paying him then. But, I need something to say that we completed the transaction.

just make him sign a reciept. Anything written down with the date, what happened and signature will hold up if you have to take him to Judge Judy ;)

just pay him in cash and write all the conditions on paper and make him sign (conditions meaning that it runs or whatever)

so if this guy fucks him over at least he has proof that a transaction took place so he can get his money back in court. Your not going to get anything back if you don't have any proof

A friend of mine mentioned using a cashier's check. This guy does have a checking acc't, so I don't see why that wouldn't work. Atleast there will be a paper trail.

Just need to get ahold of him via cell to see if that's cool with him.

make your own contract of the terms, items exchanged, conditions of the transaction, etc.

dam. ok, so i asked a dumb question.

just type up an agreement, have a witness, you and him sign the ----. thats simple.

put all of your concers in it.
it runs, not hot, whatever you wanna include...you can bang his chic, whatever you want.

Why do you just organize an HMT meet on the day he comes, and that's a bunch of witnesses for you, and we can all kick his ass and barbecue him. We'll have him for dinner and just pay the cook the 2000 dollars. ??? Just one of my ideas.

Well, it's 6AM and I guess he's still driving. He called around 10PM saying he was just outside Sacramento...that's 480 miles from me...7 hours.

I printed out this snazzy little "Receipt for sale of goods" template. And when he shows up..i'm gonna snap pics of clip on the trailer and try and sneak in a pic of his license plate ;D

Too bad you didnt buy it from a girl. You could've given her back the 2000 dollars so she can get naked and you can take pictures and post them. better yet... have the HMT meet/gangbang and post it. :)

The clip is a little more stripped than I'd like to see...but this motor is darn hard to get, so I'll settle on this. It's a shame that salt air tends to make things look crappy. Nothin a little Mean Green (whatever it's called) won't fix!

that doesn't "look" like a good deal but hey whatever floats ur boat. i bought a engine with 40k and it looked brandnew. you sure he didnt store the car in the bottom of a lake?

Looks can be deceiving. Under that salty air finish, it's clean.

It's a 1.6L Supercharged 4A-GZE (Z denotes "supercharger"). Spec'd at 170HP @ 6400RPM/ 150 ft-lbs @ 6400RPM @ 8psi. The torque band on this motor is incredible.

Forged everything, ceramic coated pistons, etc. etc.

And what's it goin in? A 4-door Corolla Sedan...teh ul7im4t3 sl33p3r!

Motor is so darn hard to find. And even when/if you do find it, rarely comes with harness, ECU or tranny.

I guess Toyota are opposite from Honda when it comes to LSD tranny identification? Normally if it has the bar in the middle it's NOT an LSD. ???

I actually got pretty bummed out tonight. I was just so overwhelmed that I totally lost interest for a couple hours. I think the kid that sold it to me stripped it of a few things before he sold it. But, I'll just keep telling myself that it'll be worth it to smoke the ricers here in the 4-door gramaflage car.

Just gonna spend the next few nights cleaning her up. Then when I can get a cherry picker, I'll pull it and dick around for a bit. Then I'm gonna lift it way up high over my engine bay, cut the changes and let it drop.

Sorry this isn't a HMT setup, but I'll get to that eventually.
