NEED ADVICE

OK I have a 1999 Mitsu Eclipse RS. IM not sure which but either the master or the slave cylinder went out in the hydro system. Since this car is my DD and i dont ---- around with it to much i was gonna have a shop take care of it. THe shop i sent it to JUST went out of buisness and the new owners wont have it open until later this week/ beginning of next week. I have 300 bucks in my pocket, and i get paid about 600 bucks on the 20th. I have to make a car payment and insurance payment that cost about 350 total and my lil credit card (300 bucks) is maxed so i would like to pay a lil something on it. I have a 1992 Acura Integra that isnt registered and i need to fix the exhaust before i can drive it. Also there is a camber problem with the left rear. MY question is should i wait and get eh eclipse fixed and then pay the insurance and car payment? or should i get teh integra registered and insured, fix the exhaust and then make the car payment/insurance payment on the eclipse? Any insight would be helpful

Your obvious problem there is you said "Mistubishi" and "Daily Driver" in the same sentence.

Re: NEED ADVICE

DSM = Dump Some Money, sell that piece of ---- and fix the acura, I guarantee you will be happier with the acura when it comes to long term drivability and reliability.

I know a guy who had the same car you do, he took me for a ride to show me how fast the car was, I nearly ---- my pants, not because the car was going 180kph but because it felt like it was going to fly completely off the road, the suspension was making sounds, the car felt like it was lifting off the pavement...this was on a road where I topped out my old ZC CRX at over 200 and it felt solid and safe, yet this piece of crap DSM couldnt manage 180 without the car trying to vear off the road...mind you this was all stock, just passed safety and etest that week with all new balljoints and alligment. the owner sold it due to it being a pile of ---- and bought a better car.

Another guy I know has a civic and a Plymouth lazer and the DSM is sitting on the grass after countless trips to a mechanic and a new turbo, he's driving the civic now and has zero problems with it.

And another guy I know drives his DSM but he's constantly repairing it, every time I go visit him he's either under the car or its off the road, funny thing is he also owns an accord and drives the accord more than the DSM.

So here you go, 3 cases which prove that anything DSM is crap.

dsm = faster for cheaper

dsm = faster more reliably for cheaper

than any integra.

Re: NEED ADVICE

turbocharged stock motor hondas are not reliable.

oops the octane was a little less in this batch of gas, there goes my motor

dsm = knock sensor backs down timing saves motor

Their motors have homo timming belts issues, crankwalk and other BS, after that you can start on all the drivetrain probs. Hondas are always better :P

this makes me laught i see one guy trying to defend dsm's and the best thing he could come up with is a crappy knock sensor. LOLZ

you think you wont even break a honda trans??? or an axel??? ....lol

we can start with the tiny pistons, that break into many peices on a whim.

or the blocks that crank #3 cylinder all the time, or the blocks that spin #3 rod bearing.... etc...

Honda trannys dont have many probs besides the diffs, and your going to the break any piston/ sleeve when doing 5th gear pulls on a LS tranny with boost creep ;)

Case and point. Don't drive a DSM unless you know how to upkeep them. Don't drive a turbo *stock block* Honda unless you know how to upkeep them.

yes because everyone drives honda's on this site. hence the reason its called honda-tech. wait this is hmt. lol. yes i drive a honda but i also have a 84 supra. your gonna have trouble with any car like we are finally figuring out? lol but rumor has it dsm's are not the car to get if you want to be on the road much. or at least i hear.

Crankwalk = 2g DSM's (4g63). Not the first gens. Not sure about this kids engine though. its either the 420a or the 1.8 (cant remember the name for that one)

Just to let you know knock sensor is found in the p72,p61,p30 ecu's dohc vtec and is a feature found in crome. I know everyone wants to do converted p06/p28's since were cheap but yes the ability to run a knock sensor is there just have to spend the little extra on the stock obd1 dohc vtec ecu's but in the long run ya its worth it.

You guys totally jacked this thread... The guy has a stock RS which means no turbo, and it doesn't sound like he pushes the car. So most of the stuff you guys are babbling about doesn't apply.

Yup all dohc vtec motors have them in the block. It is i believe a 24 mm nut/1 wire sensor. The ls block on the other hand does not have a stock location for one. Also the d16y8 motors also have a knock sensor
