Great. A kubbelwagen. And is that a trailer I spy in the background?

nope, its a normal house, we have a basement and everything :P my great grandpa built both houses, the white one in in the late 40's after he got back and settled from ww2, and the tan one when my grandmother got maired. and we stay in the tan house so we can take care of my great grandmother next door.

Well, congradulations on the new car. Have fun changing that plastic coolant bypass neck when it cracks twice a year, like clockwork.

Keep extra oil in the hatch of the Kraut-mobile your gonna need it or in accordance with the vw dealership...use thicker oil, it is normal for vw's to use oil ::) Good luck with it though :P

I was sitting at the pump, filling the 89 DX beater deluxe. Kid in an R32 VW pulls up. I'd never seen one before, try to talk to him about it, he looks over my shoulder at the raggedy Honduh, and acts a little stuck up. Whatever. I finish pumping gas, pass him as I go in to pay, and when I come out he's got his hood popped and is feeding the car 2 quarts of oil. I couldn't help it, "Oh, so it's a shiny piece of ----."

Ah, good times!

I have a friend that has a 98 Beetle and hasn't had any major issues with it (it does not get driven in winter though) every other person that I have known that has had a VW....major POS's. Rawr, I hope you don't have the same issues, but I would seriously keep extra oil with me if I were you. We used to walk into my buddies shop and say "sniff sniff....I smell a VW on jackstands" it used to set him off big time, but it was funny as hell. ;D

another one of my buddys has an mk3, and he drives the ---- out of it. only problem it had was stripping the timing belt out. but it also had 200k miles on the stock timing belt. some girl i hang out with has an mk2 gti and its in perfect condition, no problems at all and its a 92. before that she had an 81 rabbit witout any issues.

ha i wish mine was an 06, i realy like driving it though. its diffrent having a torquey car that can pull through 1-3k insted of one that spins up to 3k then gets its power.

turbo comes in hard at 2k on the 1.8t, i was surprised with the acceleration for such a heavy car. it would blow the doors off my crx :'(
