A few might call me a nutswinger (Beau), but who's nuts am I swinging on? I don't own a Honda anymore, and for the most part I just come back to this site to help out here and there with what I've learned over the years. If anything the only nuts I'm swinging on are the one's that belong to the real people on here that really want to learn as much as possible. Granted every once and a while I do a few "homemade" builds for others to help them out in their pursuit of going faster, but the base of what I know now started here at HMT. The knowledge might still be here, but it's hidden under the 20 tons of crap the current members have spewed over it.
To the new owner: Rick, I don't personally know you, but all I can say is you have your work cut out for you. Respect the OG's and in time they'll respect you, just like any other site. So far I haven't seen you go out of your way to incessantly flame any person other than as a retort to their personal attacks, so that makes you A-OK in my book. And as for the vB setup, leave it just the way it is...I personally like it much better and I'm quite used to it from numerous other forums. Makes getting around the site easier in the long run. Lol yeah, a couple times now. Jeff sold it to Chris (Xenocron) a little while back and Chris finally let it go to the new owner Rick (Rick P.). You have been off here for a while haven't you? :)

He got married and all that good stuff. Guess he decided it was time to grow up and move on in life, he still pops on from time to time but I haven't been on as much as I used to after I offed my Honda to catch up with him. The site kinda took a downturn a little before he offed it though, so maybe that had a part in it too. I'm kind of hoping the new owner restores it some-what to its former early-Jeff years glory lol.

well best of luck to Jeff, he was the man. The only guy who i found to reply to every nonsense spam pm I sent him. I dont think the site will ever return to its former glory, I do with the new owner good luck, and I hope that the OG members are listened to. |

I'm not OG, but i was lerking and learning and most importantly READING before I made my first post. I've actually witnessed the change. HMT is a good site, and IS actually filled with information, and knowledgeable ppl. Like someone else said...its burried under a ton of "fist yourself faggot", "grab a rope", and all that goodness. The porn was nice to see as well. If it weren't for HMT, I would've paid for a turbo kit from turbonetics or something. Now i'm puttin together a decent setup for less than $1300. I'm gonna stick around HMT unless it starts getting absolutely rediculous. I enjoy the racist/demeaning comments. Half of the comments aren't personally serious, and i get a chuckle from it. Good luck Rick.P you really do have your work cut out for u if you feel the need to change everything about HMT. I don't know ur intentions or what you plan on doing with HMT, but i'm stickin around. |
