My new setup (PICS)

Well since I sold the 14b mani and turbo, I am going to need something new.

Here it is.

Audi/HKS 30mm wastegate
Homemade manifold
t3 saab 900 turbo

Also to accompany this: Filled d16z6, TunerToys Rods, Arias 9:1 oem bore pistons, stock head, methanol injection via assistance from English Racing. I almost have all these parts gathered up and ready to go.

First off about this mani. It's a whole lot of ugly, I won't deny that. The guy I let tig weld it sucks complete balls at it, so eventually I just grabbed the mig and finished a couple spots. the flanges are mild, all the bends are stainless, standard sorta deal.

In all its ugly, it should be quite effective. I started this back before BMC did the first Elf, and its just been sitting back burner mostly because I said the hell with it. Then when I sold the 14b I decided I'd need a mani, so I revived this one, tossed a WG flange on it, and called it good. Again this will get the standard flat black treatment.

Over time I may try out a sidewinder or topmount setup. If I do I will have someone with skills weld it all up for me, and make it pretty. I'll upgrade the turbo at that time too.

without further ado...pics

here you can see the two inner runners run down to the flange, all 4 meet at the flange as if there were a collector

some of the less ugly tig welds

audi gate attached, believe it or not this whole thing actually fits in the car...VERY snug.

More showing the merge 4-1

Properly true flattened flange, tig welder guy warped the ---- outta this. My next mission is a 1" thick baseplate for flanges.

Bottom view. One of the effective parts of this manifold is the smooth merge at the t3 flange. There is no harsh edge, they all bevel nicely right into the flange.

Overall, should be good, functionally, maybe I'll build a heatshield over it, haha.

So your going built now, huh? Any goals you want to hit? 13.9 last time so what's the deal this time? How big is that Saab turbo? That mani isn't that ugly, not to me atleast. The WG looks funny though. LOL. ;) ;D

I am thinking send you the next mani I make mocked up and ready for weld. ;)

its not too beat, its definitely not one of those flashy manifolds tho, heh

and yeah last time was 13.6@100mph.

This time my goal is to make 300whp or so, and dip it well into the 12's perhaps. I dunno...I'm not really shooting for anything past more power than I had before...thats all I really want. My car has always been the funnest on the street.

I know that you hit 13.6, but the orginal goal was 13.9 then you kept dropping. What was the set-up for your 13.6 run? Was that still on streets? 300whp on a D. Dang. I wanted to do that, but I'm just NOW getting into the game. Oh well, rep it well.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted to look into in the near future. 300whp D. That would be sweet.
